A Surrender Experiment

You may have heard that “giving and receiving” is all the same.  More accurately; they work together – NATURALLY.   What is receiving?  The word “receive” contains the energy of surrender; to allow –surrender to.  Interesting…the word “give” is also infused with the energy of surrender; to give up.
Let me tell you a story….

The story starts with a book, “The Surrender Experiment” by Michael A. Singer.  I had already read his book “The Untethered Soul” and it was super affirming of my current understanding of who I AM.  It is one of those books I recommend often.  Then The Surrender Experiment showed up on my radar.  Honestly, as I write this I don’t know how it came to me.  I just know it resonated at such a deep level I could not put it down or better said – turn it off.  I listened to Michael himself tell the story on Audible.

Let me say right here, I am a book-a-holic.  The thought of listening to a book never really appealed to me.  I enjoy reading a book I can hold in my hand.  Then came Audible.  I love listening when I’m driving. It makes the drive so much more fun!  And, I’m able to enjoy even more books.
Anyway, I had no idea the depth of this man’s journey.  I had no clue what had been built or how far his reach was due to his decision to just surrender to life; going where life led.  Never saying NO to whatever life dropped at his doorstep.  Just allowing life to unfold without resistance.

We think we know what is best for us.  We do not.  Or, our “Ego” mind does not.  The Universe (God) wants to give us every “Good” thing.  We are good at blocking this good with our mind and then actions.

This book was the first in a series of synergistic events that would unfold over the course of two weeks and leave me changed.  I love it when something or someone has that effect on my life.   I love having my mind blown.  I couldn’t always say that…

The second event came in a dream.  All I remember is a pelican with its gullet full…bulging.  I know that we have animal messengers.  I have lots of experiences around this magical way of receiving divine messages.  Another story time…

I didn’t tune-in to that message right away.  It would be several days before I remembered again and discerned the message (God’s timing is impeccable).  “Animal-Speak” pocket guide by Ted Andrews is a super helpful tool I use to steer me in the right direction.  However, just like Archangel Michael Card Readings (the only card readings I do), I realized a long time ago that the entire message on the page may not be relevant.  My inner guidance discerns the specific meaning for me or for my client.   The sentence on the page that was most relevant – “Give what you can to others”.   Hummm….   “I wonder what that means?”  “More volunteer work – maybe?”

A few days later, I’m in a session with a client in Florida and she says I remind her of a healing facilitator named Charlie Goldsmith.  In the wee hours of May 6th I thought to look him up.  (I realized just now as I write, 5/6 = 11.  That sweet number that lets us know we are on the right track).  Part of the message of the pelican became immediately clear when I read Charlie does not charge for his services, (I didn’t realize then the pelican’s “full gullet” also had meaning).  Shocked, I asked “Spirit, are you telling me to give my services away?”  I heard, “Give yourself away”.

As you can imagine, the idea was a little scary – A LOT scary.  Just to be on the safe side, I asked, “Spirit…show me one more thing I cannot argue with and I am ALL IN!”

I awake the next day and as I’m getting ready for church I remember I volunteered to read “The Daily Word”.   I said to myself, “I had better get my rear in gear if I’m going to be on time”.  I needed to be there an hour before the service to practice.  Not that it takes an hour; there are several volunteer speakers that practice during this time.

During my drive time to church (about 35 minutes) I am quiet; no music, no distractions.  It is a time I cherish as I often receive divine messages along the way.   I am in receiving mode.  Several times I tear up and I don’t know why.  It is a joyful energy that is bringing the water.   By the time I pull up to the light at Mockingbird and Central I KNOW I’m going to receive the divine answer I asked for at church and it is going to move me to tears – it already had.

I received the answer as soon as I opened to the Daily Word for May 6th, 2018.  Here it is in its entirety:

Helping Others

I AM GRATEFUL TODAY FOR EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO BE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS.

Again and again in his earthly ministry, Jesus called us to have faith—the faith of a child, faith as small as a mustard seed. We may assume that it’s only with enough faith we can do the work that is ours to do. Today I recognize that quite the opposite is true!

By reaching out, extending love, and helping others in their human experiences, my faith grows. Belief becomes easy when I can clearly see the spiritual power my actions create!

My choice, then, is not a blind faith but a perceptive faith. I recognize the good I can create in the world and I strengthen my faith through the actions I choose.

Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.—Luke 6:38

As soon as I read the affirmation, I found myself vibrating from head to toe.   But, this is not the end of the story…

I was pretty overcome.  Yes, the tears flowed.  When it was time to read the message to the congregation I had put myself back together – somewhat.  I wasn’t able to hold it together completely.  I was moved again as I read the bible scripture.  Several people noticed, included Rev. Karen.  I asked her if we could talk about what had just happened after the service.

We sat together in the church courtyard where the most amazing, majestic oak tree graces the church with her wisdom and protection.

When I told her what I was being guided to do.  She nodded lovingly and reassuringly.  I’m thinking, “Whew! She doesn’t think I’ve lost my mind!”  She too has been guided to give of herself in similar fashion. She then asked a very profound question; something I hadn’t thought of yet, “Gail, if someone offers you money – what then?”

My left ear popped with that question.  Those who know me, know this means I am receiving a divine message.  I say to Karen, “Spirit has something to say.”  I quiet my mind and this gentle voice tinged with a little humor says, “Gail, surrender to receiving”.  I understand the humor.  You see, I’ve gotten A LOT better at giving (sometimes until it hurts), but receiving has always been hard for me.  Can you relate?  I have resisted my Good and a helping hand as long as I can remember.

Reading the Daily Word message again, I realized I was being called into a “surrender experiment”.  And it wasn’t just about giving, but also receiving.  This was the meaning of the Pelican’s full gullet.  My faith is about to grow to an unshakable level.

At the moment of surrender – when I said YES, an unexpected sense of peace and euphoria (an odd combo) enveloped me; confirmation I had answered correctly.  This feeling comes rushing back whenever I think about this moment.

The next day I lie down for a nap, with a few questions rolling around in my mind as drifted off; “How does this work?  What does it look like?  How do I proceed?” The answer woke me up.  My eyes flew open when I heard, “It works naturally.  Receiving is built into giving.  It was designed that way”.

Mother Nature mirrors for us our natural way of giving and receiving.  The womb of creation nurtures all of life and all life forms in nature nurture Mother Earth. There is nothing to earn. The circle of life just is.

The heavens mirror for us unconditional love. We can see that the sun, the moon and the stars shine on everyone equally without condition and ask nothing in return.

On Tuesday, I knew exactly how to bring my website and online scheduler in alignment with this “surrender experiment”.   Here is how it works:

All energy work (the gift) will be given without condition.   This includes:

“Food IS Talking” Intuitive Food Compatibility Sessions
Chakra Work
 Energetic Skeletal Alignments

I will accept “love donations” only.  No suggested amounts will be given (all pricing has been removed from the website).

If it is determined I can help, I extend this help regardless of the ability to pay.

I know by “letting go of the wheel”, not only will my needs be abundantly met; doors will also be opened to others to receive the help they need.  This reminds me of something I read in the “12 conditions of a Miracle” by Todd Michael.  It went something like this, “When what you desire is in alignment with what is Good for everyone – you will not be denied”.

This Memorial Day weekend it will be 3 weeks since receiving “The Message”.   I am already blown away by the experience so far.  I realized last Sunday as I was writing my tithe check for the week prior, it was the largest one for the year!  This week I am able to give even more.  I feel so blessed and grateful!

Here is the rest of what I heard…

1.  The perceived self-worth of many is directly tied to the world’s monetary system.   For instance; it is generally accepted that without a formal education you will not be able to “earn” a living wage.  The more expensive the education the higher the income.  Without an education you are considered practically worthless.

I let this idea hold me back from sharing my gifts initially for fear I would not be taken seriously without an expensive education and I might starve.   The intuitive and energy healing work I do was “not learned” it was realized and keeps expanding.  I do not have a bunch of letters after my name lending me credibility.  We are starting to realize we can “learn” anything online and “not all knowledge is learned”.  This work I’ve been given has sustained me full-time and part-time going on 8 years now.

I’ve been told over and over, “Gail, you need to charge more for your services.  Your pricing is a reflection of your self-worth.  People will perceive your effectiveness based on how much you charge”.   If I use this tactic, the very people I came here to help may not be able to access the help.

2.  What we believe about love is directly tied to a worldly system of value.  Many women have come to believe that to “marry well” you must be a “good catch”; with good looks, a good education and money doesn’t’ hurt.  In some countries marriages are still outwardly arranged based on money; the dowry system.  Much can be overlooked when looking for a mate if the money is right.   How many marry for “anything but love”.   How many in past generations, including my own married to be “taken care of financially?”

We may be conditioned to monetize self-worth and love, however the “The Truth” is:

“We cannot earn what we already ARE – Love and Life”.

I guess it is time to trust Life again and its “built-in” support system of “giving and

receiving”.   It is time to undo my conditioning around money and self-worth, once and for
all.  It is time to release ALL blocks to receiving abundance in its many forms – including
money.  To give of myself expansively and freely – I must do this.  To receive abundant love –
I must do this.
I can see how this surrender thing works in all of life and this realization helps to solidify my
faith. For instance; without surrendering what “I think” to the Source of ALL Knowing, I would
not be able to do the work I’m called to do.  For every question there is already an answer.
They co-exist, just like giving and receiving.  I “receive” these answers on behalf of my
clients.   If I can allow this, then I can allow anything.

I don’t know where this experiment is leading me and that’s okay.   My ego reminds me less

and less every day that the unknown and change is scary.  I wonder if it will ever completely
give up.  It really doesn’t matter.  I have a free will choice in who am I going to surrender to;
myself or God.  I choose God.

In much gratitude and love,

Chef Gail

The Comfort of Fall

The Comfort of Fall

Fall has arrived!  I was going to say fall is my favorite time of year.  And, then a small voice said, “No it isn’t”.   I realize I’ve come to appreciate every season equally.

The wind feels different in the fall, don’t you think?  It has a heavier, soothing, caressing texture, like a favorite blanket.

The fall’s light falls on my body differently – not as intense.  I can easily and with comfort turn my face into it, soaking up the rays that nourish my body and spirit.

Autumn is comfortable.  The colors comfort.  The air is comfortable.  It invites a comfortable pace – a slowing down.   All of nature sighs….Ahhhhhh.

In these times of stress and chaos unfolding around us, fall reminds us to take a deep, luscious breath.  It reminds us to take time to get out of our mind and perceive with the senses all the beauty, abundance and peace surrounding us.  It reminds us to take time to soothe our wounds.

Bring into your being the peace this season is bringing. Take a breath with nature.  Soak it in.  Let it fortify and strengthen you.  Let it heal you.

Be good to yourself.  The best thing you can do for the world right now is take good care of yourself.  You cannot give away what you do not have; and what you have you are giving to the world either consciously or unconsiously.

Fall brings comfort in many ways.  Can you say “Comfort Food”?  I’m making one of my favorite fall recipes today and I thought of you.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I’m going to.

May you find comfort and peace in all seasons of life,

Chef Gail

Comfort Stew

2 tablespoon  Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon butter (or more olive oil for vegan version)
2 leeks, clean and chopped with a little of the green part
2 shallots, minced
1 cup button or baby bella mushrooms, roughly chopped
1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary (or ½ tsp dried)
1 teaspoon fresh chopped tarragon (or ½ tsp dried)
3 tablespoon oat or rice flour
¼ cup dry white wine, optional (chardonnay is good)
1 ½ cup vegetable stock, give or talk (I love organic Better Than Bouillon concentrate in a jar)
¾ cup organic milk (So Delicious coconut milk beverage, unsweetened for vegan version)
2 tablespoon of nutritional yeast (optional for a richer broth and adds more protein)
2 dashes fresh grated nutmeg (or ground)
1 teaspoon sea salt and cracked pepper or to taste
1 bunch collard greens, chopped (boil or sauté until just tender and still bright green)
1 can black eyed peas, drained and rinsed
2 cups cubed butternut squash, prepared (sweet potatoes works well too)

Preheat large skillet over medium high (I love to use my huge iron skillet for this).  Add butter and oil and swirl to coat skillet.  Add mushrooms, shallots and leeks to hot skillet with a dash of sea salt.  Sauté for about 3 minutes then add herbs.  Stir frequently until leeks are translucent and mushrooms have released their moisture (5-7 minutes total).

Add flour to mixture stirring for a minute until well blended.  Deglaze pan with wine and simmer for a minute.  Add broth and bring to high simmer.  Gradually add milk stirring constantly until sauce is thickening.  Stir in nutritional yeast and nutmeg.  Add salt and pepper to taste.   Fold in collards. peas and sweet potatoes.

Serve with a rustic, crusty cornbread (recipe below), polenta or quinoa.

Classic Iron Skillet Cornbread
Gluten-free, Diabetic Friendly with Vegan Option

1 cup stoneground organic cornmeal
½ cup polenta (coarse ground grits)
½ cup oat flour (replace ¼ cup oat with ¼ cup tapioca flour for lighter texture)
¼ teaspoon xanthan gum, optional (Replaces gluten so the cornbread holds together better)
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoon pure maple syrup (or powdered Stevia for non-sugar version)
1 egg gently beaten (or egg replacer for vegan version)*
½ cup organic applesauce (unsweetened)
1 ½ cups more or less of buttermilk (or unsweetened, plant-based milk for vegan version)
Note:  If using plain milk add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to milk
1 tablespoon grass-fed butter (Earth Balance for vegan version)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.   Place iron skillet** in oven while preheating and mixing together ingredients.

In large bowl mix together dry ingredients.  In another bowl, whisk together all wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry, mixing until just blended.  Do not over mix or you will have flat bread.  Batter should be very thick but pourable.

Add butter to hot skillet and tilt to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Pour batter evenly into skillet.  Place skillet on center rack in oven and bake for about 35 minutes or until golden on top and a toothpick comes out clean.  Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before cutting.  (Remove bread from iron skillet before cutting!).

*Vegan Version Egg Replacer; 2 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 4 tablespoon water.  Let stand for a few minutes until thickened.

**Note:  You can use a muffin tin, glass or metal pan for this recipe.  However; a good iron skillet is an excellent source of iron for a plant-based diet.  When it is well seasoned it is virtually “non-stick” and a joy to cook with.

The Evolution of Veganism, Continued…

evolution-of-free-health-fb-cover

I have written before about the “Evolution of Vegan-ism” and how evolution takes time.   The human body is an animal and this animal has been eating meat for a long time.  So it makes sense that converting to a vegan diet will take the human body a period time to adapt.  There is more to the story – as always…

The idea that humans were originally herbivores or vegans has never set quite right with me.   It was a puzzle with a missing piece.  My mind loves to solve puzzles, but this one was beyond my human brain to make sense of.   Of course, over the last 6 years, I’ve realized the human mind is so limited.  We are limited by what we know and experience.  Yes – humans have a tendency to block information that doesn’t align with what we already know.

Revelation is information revealed (divinely delivered).  It happens when you least expect it.  It happens in my sleep a lot (when my mind is less busy), but sometimes, messages come out of nowhere and smack me in the face.   This was one of those.  I thought I was meditating on one thing, but the Universe had different ideas.

What dictates the human animal’s natural eating tendency is our “roots” – where we originated.  Early Eskimos (Arctic people) would have starved to death without the whale; while other large mammals like elephants and giraffes thrive as herbivores in warm climates where Mother Nature’s bounty is plentiful all year round.  Polar bears in the Arctic are carnivores, where plant life is scarce. Other large bears are omnivores and eat plant and animal.  Creation adapts to its environment.

Over time, we have been vegans, vegetarians, but mostly omnivores – adaptable.  And, the body evolves as it adapts.  Thank goodness, or the human animal would have become extinct just as lower animals who have not adapted to changed environments.

As we have evolved, our food availability and variety has been hugely expanded.  Over-time, we have collectively needed less and less meat.    We have reached a point in our evolution where most humans can be healthfully sustained on a vegetarian diet and some on a strict vegan diet.  This is the “Evolution of Vegan-ism”.  It has been a natural, slow progression.

Still, there are some who require meat for optimum health.   If you need more protein than average healthy human (men 55 grams a day and women 45 grams) you may have cold-weather roots.

What does enough protein look like this day and age?  6 ounces of lean sirloin (what the USDA says is a serving) is about 45 grams of protein; all the protein the average woman needs in a day.  Keep in mind, that most foods contain protein and some plants are complete proteins like kale, lentils and quinoa, to name a few.  It is easy to see how our diets can easily be too protein heavy.

What happens when we give the body something it doesn’t need or too much of anything? The body must work very hard to process it out.  That food becomes a burden.  While the body is busy processing out what it doesn’t need, the energy required for maintenance and repair is not available.   The over consumption of protein from the most acidic source (meat) has created a big burden on the body, leaving the body inflamed, tired and vulnerable to disease.

Each “healthy” body has a baseline for food compatibility and your roots will  have a lot to do with what this looks like (by the way – all animals have a baseline compatibility).  Our baseline takes time to change – to evolve.  From the baseline foods, some will be “highly compatible”.  These foods are re-stocking the body’s tool box; they contain the nutrients that are missing for maintenance and repair.

What is “highly compatible” will change daily according to what is going on physically, mentally and even by what you ate yesterday (you stocked the tool box).  If you can know what the highly compatible foods are before you go grocery shopping you can always be restocking your tool box.  Powerful! This is prevention at its best! You have the ability to know and part of my purpose is helping you uncover this ability.

If you are striving to become completely vegan and your body is saying you need meat, you may want to consider taking it slow.  Go vegetarian first and very slowly convert to all plants.  This transition can take up to 5 to 6 years (this has been my experience – I’m Scottish.  I would be happy to share my journey upon request).   If you are rooted in a warm climate this transition can be quicker.  During this transition you have the option of making cruelty-free choices.  Look for small local farmers or raise your own chickens for fresh eggs. KNOW YOUR SOURCE.  Cruelty-free, organic dairy and eggs are getting easier and easier to find as the cruelty, inherent in the large factory farming conglomerates is exposed to the public.

This intuitive work has forced me to give up what I thought I knew about nutrition (about a lot of things!). I’ve had to leave my judgment at the curb.  By letting go – I receive new information.   One of the biggest revelations – What every “body” needs is different.   Think about this – If your body needs something only an animal can provide and you do not accept this gift of nourishment, what animal are you being cruel to?  All animals have purpose, just like all of Creation.  Sometimes that purpose is to provide nutrition.  Be grateful and thankful animals have helped us thrive all this time…

Coming up next….

“When Did Variety Become the Spice of Life”.    And, how the collective body has adapted to survive the “Age of Sugar”.

Wishing you much peace, joy, LOVE & abundant health!

Voting "Mindfully" and "Intuitively"

voting-intuitively

It is election time again and it has never been more important to VOTE.   If you are having trouble making a decision – I hope this helps give you clarity.

Many of you already know me as the “Intuitive Chef” so what I am about to share will probably not come as too big a shock.  I’m sure some will think I’m completely insane.  I gotten to a place in my life (a very peaceful place I might add) where I no longer make decisions based on what others think.

It’s only fear (EGO – Earth Guidance Only) that causes us to hold tight to our gifts and prevents us from sharing them with the world.  How selfish is that? The world needs us to share our gifts NOW!   Its only fear that keeps us stuck in the “same old, same old”, afraid of change.  You know the old saying, “There is nothing to fear except fear itself”.  And, here is another good one, “The only constant is change”.

This is me being fearless.  I came out of the closet with my intuitive gifts on Facebook in 2013 and I haven’t looked back.  My website was completely re-vamped in 2015 to reflect my Highest Work.  Since then, life has shown me, I absolutely did the right thing!  I read this quote the other day online and it is so true, “Life always tells the truth”.   What is your life telling you?

There is no way I’m letting fear get in the way of this important message:  We must BE the change we want to see in this country and worldwide.  This may mean changing how we do things, including voting.

In 2014, I voted intuitively for the first time and I’ve been voting this way ever since.  I use this divine gift to guide me daily in every aspect of my life, why not use it to vote?  We all have this gift.  It’s part of our God-given inheritance.  And, if I am aware of my intuitive gifts then I know there are many others that are aware or starting to become aware of theirs.  I can’t think of a more important way to use this gift, well yes I can, but this is definitely at the top.

The fact is, even if we did our homework (which I’m sure many voters don’t) it’s still really hard to get past all of the deception to make an educated choice.   And, our educated choice is only as good as the education.  We know from past experience, what we’ve learned may not remain true.   For instance; science is continually evolving along with man.

You can’t believe everything you hear from the AD campaigns.  People don’t also tell the truth.  Voting “party” is most ineffective; it just creates more polarity and in no way guarantees the character or motives of a candidate.

Listening to opinion gets you nowhere; everyone has one.  The news stations lean to one side of the other – CNN is “so-called” liberal and FOX is considered “conservative”.  And BIG money controls what is reported.  Many big issues you will not hear discussed unless you listen objectively to all sides.   How many actually do this?  Even if you do, what you consider important still may not be addressed.  Many HUGE issues are not being talked about today.  A candidate is not obliged to answer a question never asked.  And, politicians are experts at “not answering the question”.

See “Voting Mindfully for Freedom” for what “I consider” important questions to ask of our candidates and more voting tips:

https://goodfood4thought.wordpress.com/2016/03/08/voting-mindfully-for-freedom/

We can no longer afford to vote blindly based on party or based on what others think.  We can no longer afford to “follow the leader” if we want to see progressive change.  Change for the “Good” of ALL of mankind and the planet.  If you are ready for a change, then the only way to have it is to make a change.

On Election Day, we are not just voting for president.  We have lots of decisions to make and each one counts.  The president does not operate independently.   I want to elect individuals that have the “highest good” of the “people” and the “planet” as his/her top agenda.  Of course, sometimes we must choose between the lesser of 2 evils (or more).

We are not under a dictatorship; the end result of following the leader.   It is my prayer this country remains a free democracy that supports and honors all life and our God-give right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.   This can only happen if we exercise our God-given “free will” to think independently and objectively and then act.

Voting Intuitively Tip #1:  Our mind is our most powerful tool.  “Nothing was ever created that wasn’t thought of first”.  What we “think we know”, our opinion or judgment will affect our answers.  The person that “knows” the least will find it easier to receive “pure” answers.   Objectivity is learned.  It is something I have gotten good at over time.  It is imperative in my work.   (I share in my workshops, tips for learning objectivity.)

Before testing anything, take a deep, mindful cleansing breath to clear and ground.  When emotionally charged, we have been taught to “take a deep breath” before reacting. Why? It clears our mind.  It may help to speak out loud, “I don’t care what the answer is – I only want the Truth”.

I receive the answer in my head (that wasn’t always the case).  You may receive your answers another way.  I then use another method for verification.  (Very important step!  Sometimes my mind still gets in the way.  I’m human).  There are many divining tools you can use including your body.  You have a way of receiving answers in your body whether you are aware of it or not.   (Stay tuned for more tips on cultivating your intuitive skill or call me).

Voting Intuitively Tip #2  When asking for Guidance, “the answer is only as good as the question”.  This was a powerful lesson I learned early on as an intuitive.  For voting, I needed a question that takes into consideration that in some cases, none of the choices are very good ones.  However, one choice is better than all the others.  For instance; often times the best choice has no chance of getting elected and voting for the “best choice” could be a vote that helps elect the “worst choice”.

The question that arrived: “Which choice has the best chance of tipping the scales towards the highest best good of the people and the planet?”

I print out the ballot.  I state my intention (the question above) and ask “Is this the right choice” of every candidate and record the answers on the ballot.

Some “intuitives” will be able to just go to the booth and vote intuitively on the fly.    I do better in the peace and quiet of my personal space (probably a result of my “hermit” years).    I’m chuckling right now as I imagine people standing in the voting booth with pendulums and dowsing rods….LOL.  I take my ballot with me to the voting booth.  By the way, I always vote early to avoid long lines.

When voting this way, the answers cross all parties, which does not surprise me.  There are good choices on all sides just like there are bad ones.

Keep this in mind:  Just because your choice does not get elected, do not be discouraged.   It takes time and many votes to shift the collective.  However, each vote shifts the collective consciousness.  So keep voting!

If you are interested in knowing more about developing your own intuition or voting intuitively, I am happy to share my journey and what has worked for me.

Awareness and Gratitude equal the most exquisite FREEDOM!

In closing, here is a simple affirmative prayer to support world peace and this election:

The Body IS NOT Our Enemy

obesity scale

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/02/health/biggest-loser-weight-loss.html?_r=0

The article above is the perfect lead-in for the “2nd Missing Link” to our current “Health Care Puzzle” –

“What We Eat & Think“.  Most Importantly what we THINK.

I wrote about the 1st one here:  https://goodfood4thought.wordpress.com/2016/03/03/the-first-missing-link-time-does-not-stand-still-and-neither-do-our-bodies/

Not everyone’s perfect body fits into a “perceived” perfect  size.  A healthy, balanced body knows how to regulate all systems optimally and this includes weight. What keeps us from optimum health (it comes in all sizes) is what we eat and “think”. Most importantly – what we THINK.
If our thoughts are not in alignment with health – health will elude even the most obsessive “health nut”. If you “think” or live in fear of gaining the weight back, I guarantee you will. I’m sure all of the contestants have lots of experience “losing & gaining” weight. Based on this past experience the fear of gaining weight may run deep.

Where our focus goes energy flows. Focus on weight loss is putting the focus on what you don’t want – weight gain.

If you want to keep the weight off – Lose the fear. Focus on health – not weight. If you eat what “your unique” body wants 80% of the time and keep your thoughts in alignment with health, the body will thrive and the weight will regulate – naturally.

We are the commander of our vessel – not the other way around.

Our body is ALWAYS doing the right thing with what it has to work with (what we give it). It is ALWAYS striving for life. It IS NOT THE ENEMY as the article above would have us believe.

All dis-ease and obesity is sending a message that the vibration (energy) of what we are eating or “thinking” (or both) is not in alignment (compatible) with the high vibration of health. Get the message and heal.

This article is the perfect set-up for the next “medical condition” and the Pharmaceutical answer.

I’m disappointed in this “fear-mongering” article. It makes no mention of the most important and powerful element in creating health or disease “THE MIND”.

Is it Possible to “Over Alkalize” the Body?

Prior to my “Food Intuitive” days I would have said NO.  We live in a stressful, toxic world.  Stress and toxins = ACID.

I’ve changed my mind many times about many things I thought to be true over the last 4 years as I’ve learned to trust what the “Bodies” are telling me.

The body knows exactly what it needs at all times.

Many people come to me in a very acidic state of body (this is the most common condition – the root).   The first clues – they are compatible with very little acidic food and nightshades are out (they irritate an already inflamed body – Acid eats flesh inside and out).

If you have been a client you already know how quickly this acidic condition reverses as you consume your compatible foods.   As the body finds its balance (usually within a week or 10 days) more and more foods become compatible and can be added back to the diet.

Compatible means the body can digest and assimilate the food; take from the food what it needs and release what it doesn’t.  Our health begins in our gut.  What we cannot digest, we cannot use.   What we cannot use becomes a burden on the body.

A healthy, balanced body needs alkaline and acid forming foods – it just needs the proper ratio.  The ratio for a normal healthy body is approximately 60% alkaline and 40% acidic.  This allows the body to maintain an optimum pH.   I get “intuitively” that optimum is about 7.4.  This can vary slightly from person to person.  We are all so unique – it’s amazing!  For instance; optimum blood pressure and heart rate also vary from person to person.

I also get intuitively the over-all optimum body pH mirrors the optimum blood pH which must be maintained between 7.35 and 7.45 to support life.  The body is always striving for this crucial balance.  Any shift below or above the blood pH’s narrow window points to a serious inability to thrive.

Organ pH varies however.   For instance, the stomach has an acidic environment that gets very acidic when we eat.  This essential acid breaks down the food into small enough parts to be assimilated in the intestines.

When stomach acid is diluted, digestion is inhibited.  Consuming beverages while eating dilutes the stomach’s very acidic digestive juices (wine is the exception).    Chewing and our saliva start the digestion process.  When we drink beverages we also dilute our saliva.

“High Alkaline” water (pH above 8), electrolyte water, mineral and cucumber water when consumed at mealtime not only dilutes our stomach juices, it effectively neutralizes the acid in our stomach and interrupts digestion.

We need lots of water; we just do not need it close to meal time.  30 minutes before or after meals is the rule I follow.  Drink high alkaline water in between meals if extra alkalinity is needed to create balance.

Breaking this habit may take a little time, but the rewards are worth it!   I broke this habit 28 years ago.  Slowing down and chewing my food taught me to savor and enjoy the dining experience and proved to be the best thing I’ve ever done for my body!

Bonus:  Acid reflux is often caused by “not enough acid” to digest the food.  The undigested food mixes with gastric (digestive) juices and is regurgitated into the esophagus.  Omitting beverages at meal time may totally resolve this painful condition.  (DO NOT discontinue your acid reflux medication without consulting with your doctor first).

So the answer is YES!  You can be too alkaline (much harder to do). However, I have witnessed this in several instances when clients stick to their Intuitive Food Compatibility Chart way past the expiration date (the expiration date is provided during the session).   This throws off the crucial pH of the body’s organs (like the bladder and stomach).

The chart you needed when out of balance will not be the chart you need when balanced and healthy.   What the body needs changes and shifts even as you heal..

I hope this little bit of intuitive insight is helpful.  If you have any questions, you know where to find me!

Voting Mindfully for Freedom & Peace

Elections 2016

We are at a crossroads in this country.  It is time for BIG change which means we have to take a hard look at what is NOT working and make new choices.   To find solutions that WORK we must be willing to think outside the box and THINK FOR OURSELVES.

We can no longer afford to let someone, some group or our government do the “thinking” for us.

Americans are really MAD and ready for change.  Anger is the most powerful, passionate energy and catalyst for change there is.  It is necessary and creates revolution that furthers human evolution.   This country is in a severe state of “dis-ease” and I’m not talking about just illness.  It is a collective “state of being”, physically and emotionally.   The very thing many are resistant to is the cure – change..

Nothing changes until we change our mind.

Republicans and democrats argue over control; too much control or not enough control. They are both right about one thing – We have a major control issue.  As the parties continue to argue the root issue remains hidden from view.

Our government, political process and media have become a puppet to a small minority of people holding the majority of the wealth in this country and beyond.

The only reason we have ever needed a government “governing” in the first place, is to protect ourselves from those who would seek to “control” us; remove our individual and collective right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.   Greed is threatening our freedom.

The United States is now living under a form of socialism.

Definition of socialism according to Merriam-Webster: “A way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies”.

What we now have is a society in which the government is owned and “controlled” by huge corporations and conglomerates rather than individual people and companies.

After watching 4 televised debates (2 democrat and 2 republican) it became apparent to me we are only going to hear what the party wants us to hear. In these public debates the candidates are not obligated to answer questions that are not asked. To make an educated vote we must research for ourselves the issues that are most important to us and pay close attention to who is legitimately addressing them and who is not.

Here are my top 14 issues (I tried to keep it to 10:).   These are issues you may not hear discussed if only listening to one side (and some, NO candidates are discussing):

#1 – In 2010 it became legal for campaigns to be funded by unlimited corporate and personal campaign contributions to super PACs (Political Action Committee).  If you don’t know what a super Pac is or how they work, here is a good place to start:  https://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/superpacs.php

The Question:  Do super PACs represent a “Conflict of Interest”?  If a candidate is not representing the corporate interest of the super PAC why would the super PAC be interested in financing the candidate’s campaign?

I believe this is the biggest issue.  It is a root issue and colors all decisions made by government; economic, defense, health care, social, environmental, and judicial.

#2 – The US became the sickest country out of the top 11 industrialized countries in the world in 2014. (http://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/fund-reports/2014/jun/mirror-mirror).

The Question:  How can we be so sick when we have the most expensive health care system in the world?

Connecting the dots:

According to Inc.com the health industry was once again the most profitable industry in the US in 2015. http://www.inc.com/anna-hensel/ss/2015-inc5000-10-most-profitable-industries.html

In 2013 the FTC objected to a merger between Sysco & U.S. Foods arguing the combined company would “control” roughly 75% of the “foodservice marketplace”.   The food we “eat out” is effectively controlled by 2 companies.   The majority of Americans eat out A LOT.    This merger between the 2 was blocked in June of 2015.   Read all the details here:  http://www.forbes.com/sites/antoinegara/2015/06/29/sysco-cancels-8-2-billion-us-foods-takeover-in-big-antitrust-win-for-ftc/#50e0181b3129

Here is another interesting read:  http://247wallst.com/special-report/2014/08/15/companies-that-control-the-worlds-food/2/

And here:  “Today, just four large packing companies process 83% of cattle raised for beef in the United States.  Four others process 64% of the hogs.  In the early 1900s, when 5 firms controlled 66% of meatpacking, public outcry led Congress to pass the Packers and Stockyards Act, a law whose goal was to curtail the power of meatpackers by preventing them from manipulating prices and engaging in practices that discriminated unfairly against independent producers”. http://www.ase.tufts.edu/gdae/Pubs/rp/AAI_Issue_Brief_4.pdf

Another Good Question:  How do huge conglomerates, wielding so much power and control over a nation’s food supply fit into a “Free Trade” democracy?  And, is it legal?

Main stream media controls our health in several ways.  The majority of advertisements are for drugs, health care and big food industries.

#3 –  There seems to be a huge conflict between what our government says is good for us and what the government supports with our tax dollars.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) in 2013 recommends 45 grams of protein a today for the average female (with the exception of lactating or pregnant women) and 55 for the average male.  http://comenius.susqu.edu/biol/010/tobin-janzen/nutrition%20for%20everyone_%20basics_%20protein%20_%20dnpao%20_%20cdc.pdf.

(I found this info initially on the CDC website in 2013.  I now get re-directed to the USDA when I try to access this info on the CDC website…interesting.   I located the data at the website above for this blog and since my original post this link has disappeared…even more interesting.)

If you follow the USDA dietary guidelines (http://www.choosemyplate.gov/) and you are a meat eater, you will have consumed about 88 grams of protein in a single day (most from acidic sources).  How does this happen? Many plant foods are also good sources of whole protein (just like meat).

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3195546/

6 ounces (recommended serving) of sirloin has more whole protein than some women need in a single day.

In 2015 the World Health Organization (WHO) labeled meat as a carcinogen.  The bulk of U.S. Department of Agriculture subsidies (our tax dollars) support the huge meat and dairy industry; along with the corn, soy and wheat industries.  Much of the subsidized grain crops feed the meat, dairy and egg industry.  “85% of all subsidies are received by the top 16% of farm households”*

It seems this practice created to support farmers during the great depression no longer serves the small farmer and hasn’t for a long time.  Subsidy dollars artificially deflate retail prices on meat and dairy; supporting an already fat market that hugely contributes to America’s obesity and chronic disease epidemic.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/meat-dairy-may-be-as-detrimental-to-your-health-as-smoking-cigarettes/

Current subsidy practices create an environment where the small, local farmer growing essential health supporting crops cannot compete.

Have you ever wondered how a pound of hamburger meat can cost less than a pint of organic blueberries? Logically, it makes no sense.

Corn is the largest subsidized crop and is also grown to make high fructose corn syrup. This chemically modified sugar can be found in practically everything from sodas to baby formula and is solidly linked to chonic disease; obesity, diabetes and now heart disease.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/high-fructose-corn-syrup-raises-heart-disease-risk-study-finds/

*This is a good read with lots of backed-up research on the subject of government subsidies  https://www.aei.org/publication/cash-crop/

Agriculture subsidies are “controlling” our food supply.

Question:    Do you feel government subsidies are in alignment with what is good for the health of Americans and if not, what would you do to change the current situation?

#4 – According to Hillary 33,000 deaths resulted from gun violence last year and yes this is tragic.  According to the statistics below we are losing more than 12 times that many to a cause that NO ONE is talking about.

The media has many running scared for vaccinations when a few people die of the flu.  We let ourselves be doused in toxins for fear of contracting Lyme disease.  Now we have Ebola and the Zika virus to fear.  FEAR SELLS.  What you didn’t hear mentioned in the debates from either side, are these mind bending statistics (on our government website):

According to the FDA (siting studies from the Institute of Medicine and Jama in 1998) over 100,000 people die annually from ADRs (Adverse drug reactions) making it the 4th leading cause of death in American.  (These are now classified as “unintentional injuries”).  Also reported in the same article, in January of 2000, from 44,000 to 98,000 deaths occur annually from medical errors.

 http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DevelopmentApprovalProcess/DevelopmentResources/DrugInteractionsLabeling/ucm110632.htm

Note:  I haven’t found any more recent statistics on the FDA site since the one referenced in the FDA link above.

According to a study released in 2013 by the Journal of Patient Safety, deaths caused by medical error are more likely around 400,000 and is now the 3rd leading cause of death More than cancer and heart disease.

http://journals.lww.com/journalpatientsafety/Fulltext/2013/09000/A_New,_Evidence_based_Estimate_of_Patient_Harms.2.aspx

More here:  http://www.healthcareitnews.com/news/deaths-by-medical-mistakes-hit-records

Question:  It seems not only is our health care system not affording us good health, it is detrimental to our health and life.  Why do you believe are our government and media are silent on this deadly issue?

#5 – The U.S. still has 33 to 48 million people without health care (depending on who you listen to).   The “Affordable Care Act” has not accomplished what it set out to do and for many insurance became less than affordable.

Question: Do you believe health care should be a privilege and a right as a US citizen.  And if so, what is your plan to provide and pay for it?

No matter the answer, the demand for health care would plummet if our health care system was focused on “health”.  The solution to our health care crisis is to get healthy.  As long as this huge conflict of interest exist between what is good for our health and what is good for the health care industry’s shareholders we will have an industry focused on “sick care”.

#6 – Not every candidate is talking about the major issue of corporate tax loopholes that allow huge U.S. corporations to avoid paying income tax (billions of dollars) while small business and the middle class wage earners foot the bulk of the tax bill.

Donald Trump boasted in the first presidential debate that avoiding paying taxes, “Makes him smart”.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-tax-offshore-idUSKCN0S008U20151006.

http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2015/04/09/15-Fortune-500-Companies-Paid-No-Federal-Income-Taxes-2014

Can you imagine what we could do with the billions of sheltered tax dollars?

Question:  Should large profitable corporations and billionaires be legally allowed to avoid paying income tax?

#7 – A fair minimum wage has been an issue for a long long time.

People complain about our tax dollars going to fund welfare programs.  If minimum wage had kept up with inflation (as “cost of living” raises do) we would need a lot less welfare.

The national minimum wage has increased only by $2.10 since 1997 (almost 20 years).  The $5.15 minimum wage went unchanged from 1997 to 2007 – 10 years without an increase!  I wonder how many employees would stay with a company for 10 years without a raise?

https://www.dol.gov/featured/minimum-wage/chart1

Question:  Do you feel someone willing to work full-time in this country should earn a “living” wage?

#8 –  The sky rocketing cost of college is a huge financial drain on families and leave many graduates with debt that may take decades to pay.   Is this really necessary?  There are many important jobs in this country that do not require a college degree. For those who desire one, the internet and experience can provide one at NO COST.

Do we really need to go into debt to learn?  If you can pass the test and do the work, shouldn’t that be enough? Has our worth in life come down to a college degree?  It wasn’t so long ago when anyone could climb the corporate ladder on merit and create a rich life.

Question:  Do you feel every American citizen should earn a college degree to be worthy of a living wage?  And, how do you propose to pay for it?

#9 – Social Security is always a hot topic.  It has been proposed that raising the retirement age to 70 is a good idea because people are living longer.  Heaven forbid we should live long enough to collect what we have paid in.   We may be living longer, however many seniors, due to chronic disease today are not healthy enough to work and have no retirement beyond social security.  Many have lost their life’s savings and pensions due to economic crisis and corporate downsizing.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/edwardsiedle/2013/03/20/the-greatest-retirement-crisis-in-american-history/#bedcb611b88b

Our elderly are suffering physically and financially.  Those that can work are discouraged from earning “too much” money.  As of 1983 seniors started paying income tax on social security benefits if earnings and SS totaled more than $25K.  Not a lot of money by any standard.   The social security program was originally designed to be income tax free.

We have been giving our money over to a retirement system that is not taking care of our seniors and gets farther and farther out of reach for future retirees.  As it stands today many seniors can’t afford the basics of life.

Question:  What would you do to bolster the current system and insure Americans receive the benefits paid in while they still have retirement years left?

#10 – The U.S. leads the world in incarcerations – even more than communist China.  How does this happen when the population of China was 1.357 billion in 2013 compared to the  U.S. at 318.9 million in 2014 (huge difference)?    Bernie Sanders mentioned this disturbing fact, but he left this out:  How for-profit prisons have become the biggest lobby no one is talking about

Question:  Should “for profit” corporations be allowed to influence our legal and prison system?

#11 – Mental illness in regards to service veterans and mass shootings came up during the republican and democratic debates over the issue of “gun control”.   I agree with the republicans but not for the obvious reason.  Disarming people again is not addressing the “root” of the problem.

There is a complete disconnect between “mental” illness and other “physical” illness. Somewhere along the line we have forgotten the brain is part of the physical body and is affected by food and toxins just like the rest of the body.

Mental health issues are at epidemic proportions along with all chronic disease.

Question:  What would you do if you are elected to restore the physical and mental health of Americans?

#12 – Those resistant to the idea of climate change are resistant to change, period.  A handful of huge corporations making huge profits on fossil fuels have the bucks to influence Washington.  We can no longer deny we must come up with cleaner, sustainable alternatives that bring back balance to our planet.  Our future literally depends on it.

The huge meat and dairy industry is one of the leading causes of greenhouse gases, water waste and contamination.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/08/opinion/meat-makes-the-planet-thirsty.html?_r=0

http://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/global.html

http://science.time.com/2013/12/16/the-triple-whopper-environmental-impact-of-global-meat-production/

Question:  Do you believe clean, sustainable energy and sustainable farming is a goal we must realize if our children and future generations are to have clean air to breathe, clean nutritous food to eat and clean water to drink?

#13 – The option of “straight ticket voting” is a big issue for me.  I call this the “lazy man vote”.  I was guilty.  Many children are brought up to vote “party”.  As I have become more responsible for my life, this doesn’t work for me anymore.  Not only does it seem lazy – it is irresponsible.  Of course, if we did not still have a 2 party system this would be a moot point.

If you are going to vote shouldn’t you at least have to think?  Taking this option out alone would solve the issue of voter manipulation of those not mentally competent to vote either by handicap or ignorance.

Question: Does straight ticket voting have a place in a free election process?

#14 – Obama promised if elected (the first time) he would make sure Genetically Engineered food (GMOs) would have mandatory labeling.  This didn’t happen.   Monsanto has been protected by our government even as the American people have spoken very loudly on this issue.

“A total of 19 EU countries have “opted out” of growing genetically modified (GMOs) crops within all or part of their territories. “Many of EU countries have strict laws against GMOs out of public health and environmental concerns, and all 28 European nations require GMO labeling“.

http://ecowatch.com/2015/10/05/european-union-ban-gmos/

Question:   U.S. companies must label GMOs to sell their products in Europe.  Do you believe Americans should have the same right to know what they are eating?

You might have noticed defense did not come up in my top 14.  I’m not big on war.  I believe all war is a result of people trying to control people or the money.  The U.S. has only been at peace for 21 years Total since its birth.  Apparently, war is not the answer; however it is good for the economy.

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2015/02/america-war-93-time-222-239-years-since-1776.html

What we resist persist.  War is resistance to peace. As long as we live in resistance we will need a defense.  I absolutely believe we should honor and respect the brave souls defending our country with as much support as they need on and off the battle field.

The real solution to any problem is always found at the root. Greed and control is at root of all the issues addressed above.  We will find solutions when we elect and whole-heartily support those interested in exposing the root instead of covering it up.

All of the events in the world are serving as a “wake up” call and the knocking has become very loud.  We are waking up to the realization America is out of alignment with Truth.  The truth that we all exist within an Abundant Universe and are connected to all of creation.  Like all other big wake up calls in history, I have faith as a country we will awaken and make the changes necessary to reach the next stage of our evolution – Peace.

Voting Mindfully Tips:

  • Be willing to change your mind when something does not resonates with your truth; your conscience. Just because something was true before doesn’t necessarily make it true today. For instance; women once were considered incompetent to vote and at one time owning people (slaves) was considered perfectly fine.
  • Do your homework. You can’t believe everything you hear.  This means listening to all candidates on all sides and seeking out the truth.  Different media outlets and “fact checking” websites will have different variations of truth.   In the end you will resonate with what is true for you.
  • Determine what issues are most important to you. Listen carefully to all sides to determine how important they are to the candidates.
  • Resist listening to media “opinion”, biased opinion or interpretations of the debates.  Form your own opinion; be a “free thinker”.  We give up our rights and can run right off a cliff when blindly following the leader or popular opinion.  It has happened before.
  • When in doubt, go with your gut. We have a natural “bullshit” barometer built in.  When we learn how to really use this gift, lying will be obsolete.
  • Once you have made your decisions, it is important to ask one more question. Does this person I would like to see elected have a snowball’s chance in hell?  If we cast our vote for the person with no chance, we give our vote to the opposition.  Vote for the person most in alignment with your truths that has a decent chance of winning.   If we do this with every election big and small, eventually we will have a country again for the people, by the people.

BE THE CHANGE – VOTE!

Knocking on Heaven’s Door

Knocking on Heaven's DoorTruth verses Right and Wrong…..

Our bodies tell us everything. If we are feeling uptight, stressed or loud in our response – That’s our sign we are not in the vibration of

Love and Truth, but only concerned with “right or wrong”.

I feel a responsibility to sometimes share things that are hard to look at. All events are “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” – The harder the knock, the bigger the nugget (or gift).

Change does not happen by sticking our heads in the sand, but by opening the door.

Irreconcilable Differences

VIDEO: Shocking video about Muslims in Luton

Posted by Britain First on Thursday, November 6, 2014

All these events are knocking on Heaven’s door saying, wake up wakeup wake up! Every religion speaks of our oneness and being created in the image of God and most religions have nit-picked what doctrine works best at controlling “their” people.  I have often wondered through my life why the world has so many different views and versions of various religions. (This book was a real eye-opener for me.  “The New Revelations” A Conversation with God by Neale Donald Walsch).  If Christians adhered to all biblical doctrine, many things would be very different today. Women would never be able to vote, polygamy would be alive and well and slavery would still be justified; to name just a few examples.

The core message of all religions that we are to love one another unconditionally (love without judgment) has been lost and buried in the many translations. Violence is escalating because we have missed the mark (definition of sin), pulled the cover over our collective heads and are sleeping very hard. With every horrific event we are waking up. I recall a passage in the bible where Jesus says, “Be grateful in all things”? I never really understood this until recently. It means to me now, be grateful in ALL THINGS – THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY. “There is a purpose unto Heaven for everything”. All events in life are knocking on our door of awareness of our oneness with all of Creation.

With the escalation of events, I’m reminded of this little “nugget” a client gave me awhile back – “The harder the knock – the bigger the nugget”. Collectively, our door is being BANGED on, so the opening of the door is very near.  Emma Curtis Hopkins said it like this, “When the storms come thickest (according to the seeming) the peace of your soul is nearest”.

The peace is knowing who we are.  We are not these temporary bodies warring with one another. We are infinite energy, eternal – God energy. This collective knocking is just like the “rock bottom” or darkest hour some have to reach in order to wake up and look up.  It may look like all hell is breaking loose! And in a sense it is.

When the knock gets hard enough, uncomfortable enough; when we can no longer tolerant the lie we’ve been living, we will all answer it and we will see ourselves truly. We will recognize each other as each other – all precious individuations of God with unique personalities and gifts that the whole world needs and cannot do without.  We are God’s hands.  We will know our infinite worth as we realize we are irreplaceable to God – each and every one.  Heaven will reign on earth. THIS IS THE BIG NUGGET. We cannot believe we are one and then live separately; this is what we are waking up to. It is impossible to be hot or cold on this.  I think this is what Jesus meant by being “Lukewarm”.

If we believe we are made in the image of God, then what kind of God do we believe in? Do we believe in a God of hate and fear or a God of Love? If we believe in the God of hate who can be found in many religions, then we are justified in our judgment, murder of mankind and the condemnation and punishment of our children. The God of Love can also be found in these same religions. This question often played in my mind as a child and even as an adult trying to connect the dots between the fearful God of hate in the Christian bible with the God of Love also in the Christian bible. “What kind of father would condemn and torture his children to a fiery pit for eternity as punishment “? My mind just couldn’t reconcile this with the loving God the bible also spoke of (the one that loves all the little children of the world)?” Even in this world the torture of children is unacceptable.

If we live for eternity, the God of hate will take away all opportunity for us to be used for Good for eternity if we decide not to accept the doctrine (one of many) we’ve been asked to believe. In our fiery pit we are useless to God – forever. I can’t make sense of this. Wouldn’t a loving Father forever want his children to wake up, be happy and be productive in the Kingdom of Heaven doing Good works in eternity? Would He ever cease to help us wake up?

I believe in the God of Love, one that never gives up on Love.  I believe I am made in that image and so is everyone else.  If we are all made from THAT, then we must be connected by THAT.  If this is true, then Only Love is justified.  I’ve come to the conclusion at least for myself, it is impossible to believe in a God of Hate and Fear also a God of Good and Love. This is the battle ongoing in the world – trying to reconcile the irreconcilable. Love and Hate/Fear will never co-exist harmoniously.

Unconditional love is the only thing that heals (or wakes the sleeping); not any attempt to “fix” people or coerce one into any school of thought.  Jesus’s core message was to love our brothers/sisters as ourselves without judgment.  The ability to love others as Jesus commanded starts with loving ourselves this way; forgiving ourselves first for the judgment we have placed on ourselves.  We cannot extend what we don’t believe we have. The judgment of ourselves is the judgment we project on to the world. And because we are one, we are always only judging oneself.  Jesus knew there was only one answer – LOVE and He knew we were ALL THAT.

I am often asked this question. “So what do we do? Just roll over and allow these people who hate us and want to kill us to have their way”? NO – Sleeping people can reap A LOT of havoc and cause much harm. This precious gift of life on earth in every form deserves to be respected and protected from harm and suffering.  I’m reminded here of another bible passage that takes on another meaning in the light of “oneness”.  “Do onto others as you would have done to you”.  Could it be that our judgment of ourselves and our belief that we deserve to be punished fuels the need to punish?  We have all heard this, “Hurt People Hurt People”.

The solution is to LOVE ourselves and everyone unconditionally while we protect ourselves and never forget that they are us and we are them – WE ARE ONE. We can decide to stop all judgmental, hate talk and LOVE as Jesus LOVED us. This is the LOVE that IS healing our world and LOVE ALWAYS WINS.

The Un-Digested Seed

The un-digested seed

The seed of truth connects with the “Truth” at the heart center of every human.  When the heart hears Truth it resonates with it.  However, it may be un-digestible to the mind at the time.  When a mind is cluttered with old thoughts and beliefs that have served their purposefulness, there may be no fertile ground left to digest; germinate and sprout new seeds.   The mind can become infertile and stagnant.

I know from the healing work I facilitate that decluttering and detoxifying the body is basic to the physical healing process.  The same is true for the mind.

It behooves us to take stock from time to time to ask questions and sort through what we believe.   Is that belief still true?  Is it serving love?  Is it in alignment with peace, joy, abundance, happiness and love?   If it no longer serves a “good” purpose, then discard it.  Free your mind.

Our viewpoint is filtered through the lenses of our beliefs.

Hanging on to the past holds us hostage and keeps us trapped in non-beneficial cycles.  To change our reality, we must make room for change.

Meditation (the art of being present) is one of the best ways to declutter the mind.   The past does not exist in the present and neither does the future. The present is the quiet, fertile ground for germinating newly planted seeds.

For those who find meditation daunting, may I suggest a super easy and effective way to create more fertile ground.  One Minute Meditation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6eFFCi12v8.  When I first starting meditating in 2011, I set the alarm on my phone to chime every waking hour to remind me to pause and give my breath all my focus.    The breath in itself has the power to clear the mind.  There is a reason we’ve been taught to take a deep breath when we are angry.

Another very effective way to help declutter the mind is to declutter your space.   I have experienced this phenomenon for myself.  I put it to the test back in 2015 with Marie Kondo’s book, “The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up”, The Japanese art of decluttering and organizing.  Have you ever used house cleaning to destress and quiet your mind?  Makes complete sense now.

By the way, feng shui is very helpful in creating space and flow in your physical and mind space.  Here is a helpful site:  http://www.knowfengshui.com/feng-shui-map-of-your-home/

Truth is constantly being birthed.  This is the evolution of man.   It’s important to maintain that “child-like” sense of wonder that views the world as a playground with infinite possibilities.  Open minds are the “game changers”; moving the world from where we came from to where we are going.

The “un-digested” seed will sprout and grow as each mind de-clutters.  New seeds will germinate.

Here’s to your Love, joy, peace & Abundant Health!
