7 Missing Links to Abundant and Sustainable Health: Missing Link #1

Okay!  it is time…finally!  My website and newsletter are being re-vamped, I’m getting all my ducks in a row in anticipation of the launch of the second book in the Evolution of Free Health series.  Progress on this has been stalled several times over the years.  Life happens and change happens…right?   Ironically, that is the subject of today’s post.   And…Divine Timing is always perfect!

My “Intuitive Chef” journey began with foodRevelation.com in 2012 and the “FoodISTalking” Intuitive Food Compatibility charts.   Like all journeys the road did not stop there.   12 years have gone by already!  It has certainly been a wild ride, packed full of revelations!   I share these “Divine Downloads” here at Revelations & Recipes; the new name for my blog that is also a book in the making.

Over the first 7 years of this journey, I had 7 BIG reveals.  I call these, The 7 Missing Links to Abundant and Sustainable Health, the title of my next book in the Evolution of Free Health series.  The first one I released in a cookbook format, Quinoa Cookbook Journey.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSY3XGP/

Some of these missing links are so logical, you will wonder as I did, how we could possibly forget some very basic, simple Truths, like the one I’m about to share.   And, then some of them are mind-blowing and life-altering. 

I will be sharing all 7 of these missing links with my clients and readers over the next few months.   If you feel inspired, please share these with others!  We are moving out of the Evolution of Dis-ease and quickly into the Evolution of Free Health!

The first Missing Link arrived early on as I worked through multiple “FoodISTalking” Intuitive Food Compatible charts with clients.  It became apparent that what the body needs is constantly changing.   Imagine that!  We’ve all heard the old saying, “The only thing we can count on is death and taxes.”   In reality, the only thing we can truly count on…is change.

It is easy to forget this simple truth when we find ourselves in a challenging situation…

“Time does not stand still and neither do our bodies or our experiences.”

This means not one good food or one “so-called” bad food could possibly be good or bad for every “body” all the time.   Food compatibility changes as change happens.   

For instance, the world says raw food is great for you!  However, if you have a serious digestive issue like diverticulitis or a leaky gut, raw food could send you to the hospital.  This is what happened to my sister-in-law when she was listening to the so-called experts tout the benefits of a raw food diet.  She didn’t know she had diverticulitis.  

Let’s say your life just delivered you a boat load of change, like an injury or illness. Or, you become pregnant, or get fired from your job, or move to another country.  Or maybe your suddenly inspired to become a body builder.  Your nutritional needs will change…sometimes drastically!

If you eat too much of any one food, it may become temporarily incompatible or “on the line” of compatibility.   This comes up often with the intuitive food charts (it happens also when you don’t like something).  The food chart tells us what you’ve been eating too much of.  It’s saying, “I don’t need any more of that.”  If you keep eating what you don’t need you will develop a food sensitivity.    If you leave this food out for a while, it will come back into compatibility.   We could see this if the food sensitivity test (like the Alcat) were run more often.  But they are expensive and insurance would not pay for it.

Any blood work or test is just a snap shot in time.

A diagnosis is just a label to describe a symptom that Is currently happening so a medication can be prescribed.  Without a label and insurance code, the insurance company will not pay for the medication.   Your diagnosis can change and become obsolete based on the action you take.

Not one good healing modality, medicine, natural remedy, or dosage is good for every body all the time. 

Not one good healing facilitator (even me) is perfect for everyone.
And the list goes on and on…

We are unique individuals and so are our bodies.  A “one-size-fits-all” approach to health is never going to work for every “body.”   Your body has requirements and solutions that are unique to you.

Our bodies are in decay mode, detox mode, healing mode or thriving mode.  But they do not stand still.  What we eat and “think” largely determines the mode we are in at any given time…the topic of the next Missing Link.    

The good news?  With every change comes opportunity for healing and growth. 

The Tools to Manifesting a Joyful Life

In order to create what we want, we must release any thoughts that oppose what we want.  As children of Source Creator, we inherited the power of creation.  Our most powerful creative tool is the focus of our thoughts.   Quantum Physics with the “Double Slit” experiment proved this Spiritual Truth. 

 
Nothing was ever created that wasn’t thought of first!

We are moving from being “unconscious” creators to “on purpose, conscious creators” as we move into the light of consciousness, all unconscious thinking and consciously focus on what we all truly desire…a peaceful, joyful, happy, abundant life full of love!  This is our true way of being.

These are the tools that have worked for me and many others over the years.  Some have come from others and some have come to me.  They are all Divinely Inspired.  

 
The challenge for all of us is to use the tools all the time, especially when the going gets tough.  In the tough times we tend to throw our toolbox out the window.  I know… I’ve done it plenty.  

 
Don’t give up!  There will come a time with diligent use of these and vigilance you will find yourself consistently creating what you want and living a joyous life.  I know… I’ve done that too.   The occasional clog in the wheel of your happiness and peace will then simply be your sign to stop and observe the message life is sending.  

You can trust your life!  If you look back on your life, it is easy to see that what you focused on became.  Your life doesn’t lie.  It clearly tells you when you are in or out of alignment with your Good.  If life is flowing…keep going (in that direction).  If life stops…a door shuts; a road block appears, STOP and ask questions.   “I wonder what this is for?”  

Final note:  If you think that life just happens, then you are at the mercy of life…a victim with no power to change your circumstance.  You are not limited, because Spirit (of which you are) is not limited.   You know or have seen people that seemed so limited and did amazing things!

When we own our creations we are owning the Powerful Creator we are!  If you can create what you do not want, then you can just as easily create what you want, just by re-focusing the mind.
 

The Tools

1.  Value/Integrity Discernment Tool: 
If you don’t know what you want; or you know but you are not in integrity with it, life will be hard.   That’s where the “Value/Integrity” tool comes in.  When your thoughts are in integrity with what you say you want, your experiences will begin to align with your values.  With nothing opposing what you want; no conflict of interest, no contradictions, you will bring to you what you want.   It is the Law of the Universe.  You cannot receive what YOU have not asked for. You asked for this life experience.  You are asking with your thoughts and feelings.  A vibratory match is always on its way.  

Someone ask me one day why “pure evil” seems to prosper when good people seem to live in so much lack.  Spirit said, “Pure evil has no opposition…it’s pure.   It operates unopposed.  You could say it has no conscience.   Pure Good is even more powerful because in operates in Truth.”

Ask yourself in meditation what 3 things are most important to you in life.  And, then think about being at the end of your life and what was important looking back; what’s important may change.  Don’t rush.   If you have never asked this question, it might take a bit to get clear on it.  Once you know what they are, write them down. 

When you are struggling with stress and worry or with a choice or decision, run your thoughts or choices by the measuring stick you just created.  Simply ask yourself, “Is this thought or choice in alignment with what I say is important to me?” It will be easy to discern.  Now, you can discard the thought that is not in alignment and replace it with what is.

 
Here are my top 3 values and how I use them as a measuring stick for my thoughts:

 
 a. Freedom.  Is my thought in alignment with freedom or is it trapping me in a downward spiral of negativity and causing constriction in my body.   My breath will tell me.  
bHealth and well-being.  Is my thought contributing to my health or creating dis-ease?  
c. Harmonious relationships.  Is my thought creating harmony or disharmony within (my feelings)?  They will be made manifest without (in my relationships). 
 This is a wondrously freeing tool!

 2. One Minute Meditation Tool:
Get a journal, small enough to take wherever you go.  Set your phone alarm to go off every hour and sit with your breath for 1 minute.  Set an intention to have any negative, unconscious thinking rise into your conscious mind during this one minute.  Notice the thought and go back to your breathing.  Afterwards, right down in your journal what thought was opposing what you want. It is very important not to judge any judgmental, negative thoughts.  A client said this to me one day and I had to laugh!   “That would be compound judgment!”  Judgement is what buried our Truth to begin with and it will keep us buried.

Immediately after the meditation (if you have time) or at the end of the day, re-align the thoughts that are opposing what you want with what your truly desire.  Use the next tool…One Command.

 3.  One Command (by Asara Lovejoy)
Any negative or opposing thought can be re-aligned with the One Command practice.  Get the book and learn how to effectively create what you want by aligning with the vibration of it in the Quantum Field.  There is a scientific element to this that is fascinating!   I can attest this magical tool works if you work it!  It changed my life from living with just enough to living abundantly without worry. 

 4. Commanding your Spirit Tool:  You are Spirit!  Your breath is your Spirit!  You can call on this Power within to help you stay in your “Heart Space”; your loving nature.  This is a powerful tool past down to me by my mentor. Say…
 “I Command my Spirit to take my thoughts into my heart”.  Repeat 2 more times and count back from 10 – 1.  Take a big deep breath to restore your mind.  It is so!

 5. Hold ALL situations and people including YOU in the Light:
See the Light of Love infuse and surround you/them and the situation.  Ask your Spirit, “Show me a Higher Perspective”. Or, “Show me the Perfect Solution that will bring light and healing to this situation.”   Without judgmental thoughts in the way you will receive it.

 6.  Stay in your own business and respect others’ journeys:
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned and one of the hardest!  You will get dragged through the mud when you are interfering with another’s journey.  Ask your Spirit, What is mine to do?  Sometimes it is only to love people from afar.  Focus on what you want for them; see them happy, healthy and enjoying life.  If you have a part, let your Spirit guide you into the Right Action that will support healing.

 7.  Your breath is the most powerful clearing tool:  It is your Spirit!  A deep breath can clear negativity; non-beneficial energies and restore peace of mind in an instant!   Remember the old saying, “Take a deep breath and count to 10?”

 8. Stay protected from non-beneficial energies by staying out of judgment and fear.  The minute you are judging someone else you have connected to their fear.  When you are judging yourself, you have connecting with fearful experiences of the past.

If you find yourself going down a rabbit hole of fear and negativity, use your breath to clear and put your protective shield back up around your energy field.  Note; a negative thought will not crumple your protection; we are in a human experience.  Going down deep rabbit holes with negativity will.  Anxiety, spinning thoughts and nightmares; any dis-ease are all signs you are not clear or protected..

 9.  Use alignment tool to re-align with Truth.  See a white/gold rod moving through all your chakras and extending upward into the galaxies into infinity and downward through Mother Earth, the galaxies and into infinity.  Say, I am grounded in Truth and Anchored in Love in all of space and time and eternity”.  See this alignment up and down and then extend around you, moving outward.   Breathe deep…it is done!
 
10. Tools for staying out of judgement:  Like a picture is revealed in a dark room, the contrast; darkness is revealing us.  It creates the hard knocks in life we wake up to.  Who are we to judge what hard knock will finally cause someone to open the door to their Truth?  Our judgment keeps others buried.  It keeps us buried.  Self-judgment is what buried us to begin with.
 
As we forgive our own self-judgments we become the mirror of Love that other’s see themselves clearly in…as Love.   It starts with Self-Love.  We can and must keep ourselves protected from those that are operating out of pain and fear. They can be dangerous; and at the same time, we can stay out of judgment.  

Use these tools in lightness; without judgment.  Laugh A LOT!  Laugh at yourself.  Don’t take life so seriously!  You are here to enjoy life, not to be at the mercy of it.

Divine Planning

Staying present with what’s on your daily plate.

I hear this all the time, “I’m so overwhelmed!”   This was a common theme in my life and for many I know until I understood this:  It is not what is happening that is causing this overwhelmed feeling.  It is what I’m “thinking” about what is happening that is the cause.  When I am thinking, I am not present with what is happening…I’m in my head.  We cannot be “thinking” and “being” present at the same time. 

Once “overwhelm” takes over it can be hard to stop the anxiety that accompanies it and pull yourself out of the downward spiral.   This system will help keep you from spirally out of control to begin with.  And, if you are like me, “a little ADD” the system I’m about to share has worked magic in keeping me focused and present.   Before I discovered this, it would take me forever to just clean the house.   I would start in 1 room and go into another to get something, and BAM, I’m off and running in that room without finishing the room I exited.   Can you relate?

 Someone suggested I try a “Day Planner”.  That was a nightmare!  I also tried a huge wall calendar.  The fuller the page or calendar the more overwhelmed I felt, until I literally felt paralyzed.   It became clear to me, the systems that work for so many, were not working for me.   I needed a system that would keep track of my “To Do List” and at the same time help keep me focused only with what was currently on my plate.   This idea hit me one day as I was staring at all the Sticky Notes on my desk; reminding me of all that was left undone!

I call this method “The Sticky Note Weekly Planning System”.   Not very glamorous, but it works!

1. First Step: You will need a journal (make it light and fun!)

Block off about an hour on the weekend (or your days off) to Divinely Plan your week.  Get grounded and still.  Reflect on the projects you would like to complete.  Write the projects down in your journal as they flow into your mind.  Don’t think too hard.  Just let them come.   DON’T number them. 

Choose your words carefully. Words are powerful energy that can help or hinder.  They have a vibration.  Some are higher vibrational than others.  For instance; you might have noticed I used the word “like” rather than “want or have to”.  It feels lighter.  “Projects” and “complete” feels lighter to me than “task” and “accomplish”.  I use the online dictionary a lot to find acronyms that “feel” better.  

2. Once you have your list, ask yourself, “Is this list complete.   And, is this all “mine” to do this week?”  Be still and let the answer be revealed. You may discover some things can wait and should wait (this is not the same as procrastination).  Or maybe you have bit off more than you can chew.  Or, that you can put some of what is on your plate on someone else’s.  I used to think I had to do it all myself or it wouldn’t get done; or done right.  My ex-husband called that way of thinking, “Do It Self Me Syndrome”…LOL.   Letting go of that idea saved me a LOT of anxiety and time.

There are several ways you may hear “Spirit” answer.  Try just asking the question and taking a deep breath.  Your breath is Spirit and therefore can be the best discernment tool.  Can you take a complete breath while holding the question in your mind?  This is a good sign you’re on the right track.  Is there a hitch or hang-up; constriction anywhere in the body with the breath?  This is a good sign your list has a cliché somewhere, maybe for one of the reason stated above.

Pay close attention to the body as you breathe.  You may feel a discernible lightness or heaviness in the body with your question.  The lightness is saying YES.  The heaviness…NO.   You may even hear the answer (we all will eventually as the mind declutters).

You may use a tool if none of these methods seem to give you a clear answer (remembering your natural way of receiving can take some time.  It has been taught out of us).  Your body is an amazing tool in itself!  Stand relaxed with your feet hip distance apart.  Get grounded; see your roots growing from your feet into Mother Earth until your feet feel heavy or tingle.  Then, fold your hands over your chest.  Ask first to see how your body responds to a “Yes and No” question:

Say, “Show me a YES”.  Your body may sway forward.  This is a YES.  Say, “Show me a NO”.  A backward movement is a NO (unless your polarity is reversed and then the answers will be backwards; another reason to test your yes’s and no’s before you start asking questions.  Most of you know what “reversed polarity” means.  If not, reach out.    

The first time you experience these movements, it may be overwhelming!  OMG!  This is for REAL!  Our bodies are a conduit to Source; Our Creator; GOD.  They become better and better receivers as we declutter our bodies and minds.   If you got excited….ground again.

 3. Now comes the really fun part!  Put the list in “Divine Order”.   You may be completely surprised that what you thought was most important on your list… may not be. 

Note:  To receive Divine Guidance, it is crucial to get your head out of the way.  Spirit will not argue with you.   If you have already made up your mind you will get the answer “you think” is right.  This is called “Free Will” and what science calls “The Placebo Effect”.  This following statement works well at bypassing the mind…

“I don’t care what the answer is.  My only desire is to know the Truth”.

State it and take a deep clearing breath to clear the body and mind.  Using any of the methods above that work for you begin putting your list in Divine Order. 

While holding the first item on your list in your mind, ask “Is this number 1 on my list?   Breathe and discern. If you get a NO, then go to the next item and do the same. Continue asking and receiving; denoted the appropriate number by the project on your list until all is in Divine Order.

Write down project number 1 and maybe number 2 on Sticky Notes.  NO more than 2 to start.  Over time I have been able to have 3 or 4 sticky notes on my desk without feeling pressured as I get better and better at staying present. The visual of seeing the Sticky Notes disappear as I move from project to project is very rewarding! 

4.  See in your “Mind’s Eye” all the other projects contained in separate bubbles that are placed on a shelf where they will remain until you are ready to pull the next one down; write it on a Sticky Note and place it on your desk (or refrigerator).  I am forever grateful for my mentor for this wonderful visual! 

Now close your journal.  You know the old saying, “Out of sight, out of mind”.  You can relax now knowing you will not forget anything.  It is written in your journal and it is safe on a shelf.  You will not look at your journal or think about what else is on your list until you complete these first 1 or 2 projects on your Sticky Notes. The less I have to remember, the better.  It leaves my mind clear for “receiving”.  

An “Automated Scheduling System” was one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my business and personal planning.   I don’t busy my mind with keeping track of client appointments anymore and I can block off any personal time I desire.   I also may intuit how long it will take me to finish a project and block off that time accordingly so clients cannot book in.

With clients all over the US and beyond, “Time Zones” can be a challenge (I know some of you are laughing right now, remembering how I’ve messed up your appointment times trying to schedule sessions on my own).  The scheduler takes care of all of it!  I’ve used ACUITY for years and love it!

5.  Get set for success!  Start your day by doing some breath work to empower and align you with Truth.  I’m into the Wim Hof breathing technique.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzCaZQqAs9I ) I set an intention for every in and out breath (whatever feels supportive for that day).  For instance I might say, “With every breath in and out let Healing Light shine within and without!”  I see God’s Light expand in my body from every chakra into all the meridians and into the physicality.   Then, I see that Divine Light expand outward into my day; lighting my path with ease, joy and glory.  I see this Healing Light continue to expand further to others and into the world. 

I then see a white gold rod pierce all my chakras and continue to extend upward into infinity above my head and extend downward into infinity below my feet.  I state, “I am grounded in Truth and anchored in Love.”  And I AM!  I am raring to go!

Last note:  It may be helpful for you to start with the planning of just one day then move into weekly planning as you practice “Staying Present with Planning” (another blog coming soon).

Clearing the Mind of What’s Running from Behind

Spring into Spring with a Delicious Detox Lemonade from my upcoming  “Delicious Daily Detox Cookbook”.  Stay tuned for the release in April! (See Recipe at the end)

 I received a message from Spirit for a client the other day.  She suffers from digestive distress.  I heard…
 
“Do you want to be free?  You will have to get free from chronic negative thoughts.   They sabotage your health and well-being and disrupt peaceful digestion of “what is”.   Make up your mind”.
 
If your thoughts and actions are out of integrity with what you say you want, you will never have what you want.  In this case, the client says she wants health and well-being but doesn’t expect to have it.  Doesn’t believe she can have it.  Her thoughts and spoken words question if it is truly possible.  She is denying what she wants when she asked, “Will I always struggle?”  She is focused on the struggle…
 
The struggle is a result of “early programming”.  Of course, we all want health and well-being.  But what if there is a part of you that is constantly telling you it is not possible based on your childhood experience to have it?  And, what if this thought is running in the background so that you are often not “aware” of it?  Then you are constantly opposing what you say you want…unknowingly. 
 
Science says, what we focus on becomes… We are creating unconsciously until we move into the conscious mind what is running us from behind.  It takes an intentional, conscious effort to do this and then realign or remove the thoughts that are opposing our good. One minute meditation is a powerful tool for doing just this! 

You cannot change what you are not aware of.  You may be very surprised at how often you are thinking about what you “do not want” when you become totally aware of your thoughts.  One Minute Meditation was a miracle for me in the baby days of my practice.  Stepping into my most fulfilling Highest Work, Spirit made it clear I would need a clear mind.  
 
It goes like this.  Set an intention to hear the thoughts you are often not aware of.  Every waking hour stop (set a timer) and focus on your breath for one minute.  Have a journal with you.  NO judgment of the thoughts is allowed; you would just be judging a child that “learned” the untruth about themselves. Just notice them and go back to your breathing.  Afterwards, write them down and re-align with what you want. 
 
For instance; if you are thinking about how a co-worker is stressing you out, you are lining up with what you do not want.  You can tell.  Your body responds with constriction.  You hold your breath.  You tense up.  This energy is not in alignment with health and well-being.   It is sabotaging your body’s inborn ability to heal itself.   Realignment example:  Say… “Peace is always at hand.  I choose peace.”  Breathe in peace…

 Green Tea Lemonade with Fresh Mint and Stevia

10 regular green tea bags
12 cups purified water
1/4 cup of fresh stevia leaves
1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves
3 large lemons juiced (or 1/2 cup of juice)
2 tsp Bragg’s apple cider vinegar*
Organic liquid stevia to taste (optional)

In a 4-quart sauce pan, muddle mint and stevia leaves in a little lemon
juice to release flavors. Add water, balance of lemon juice and tea
bags. Bring to boil then remove pan from heat and steep tea with lid
on for 4-6 minutes. Stir in vinegar and liquid stevia to taste. Strain
tea into a large pitcher. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon wheel
and sprig of mint. Delicious and soothing served warm.

Note:  This vinegar actually neutralizes any bitterness from non-sugar sweeteners.

Getting to the “Energetic Root of Dis-ease”

You have probably heard me say often:  “Our health is a reflection of what we eat and “think”.  Most importantly what we think.   This is the topic of the “2nd Missing Link to Abundant and Sustainable Health” in the Evolution of Free Health book series I keep threatening to publish (still in progress).   I will probably have it all shared piecemeal before in is actually bound in a book!

We now know everything is energy; the physical body…even a rock.   The vibration of the energy determines the denseness of it.  For instance, the energy of health is much lighter than the energy of illness.  It is easy to feel that.

The most powerful energy of all is the “energy of the mind”.   The thought is the first step in the creative process of bringing the unseen into our physical reality.   A prescription drug doesn’t get approved by the FDA until it proves it “can” be more effective than the mind (placebo effect).

Nothing was ever created that wasn’t thought of first.  Born of a Source Creator, we are creators.   What we create is our individual and collective experience.  We are one with all of creation and our creations affect the whole.  If we want to change the world we must start changing our own experience…first.

We create matter (our physical experience) by what “matters” to us; it is where we direct our focus.  What matters may be very unconscious.  For instance; being right may really matter to us even if we are not aware of it.  

We are always creating consciously or unconsciously.  What we focus on determines how we feel.  These feelings are powerful rocket fuel for our creations.  What we cannot see but only feel is the energy of our emotions, but like the wind and electricity we can certainly see the effects of them in our life.  They drag us around through one trauma/drama after another until we realize they are bringing amazing wisdom and contrary to what we may have been taught, they CAN be trusted.

Chronic pain or chronic illness is the body’s “physical” response to an energetic cause.

Emotions follow thoughts, not the other way around.   Our emotions are the very barometer that measures the quality of our thoughts and creations.   If our thoughts are happy and lovely, then we feel happy and lovely.  If our thoughts are stressful and full of fear then we feel fearful and stressed out. 


By learning to feel our emotions (something for many, were not allowed to do as a child), it is easy to gage where our thoughts are.  Our body gives us huge clues if we will only pay attention. 

Our body expands with happy thoughts.  We can breathe deep.  We can relax.   Angry or fearful thoughts constrict the body.  You may not be able to take a deep breathe or your belly may be in knots.   I realized through my work that many have been constricted for so long they have forgotten how to breathe.  Watch a baby breath and follow their lead.   It may take a little practice if it has been awhile since you took a real deep belly breath.  The skin on my scalp gets tight when I start to get aggravated (it contracts).

So how do we change our thinking so we can feel more happy and less stressed? We must first become aware of our thoughts if we ever have a chance of changing them.  Depression (strong emotional pain) is a strong indicator that it is time to bring the thoughts running in the background that are running the show into the foreground; into the light of consciousness. 

The hard knock of depression can be very painful.   We may try to cover up the pain with pain-numbing drugs (legal or not and sometimes necessary in extreme circumstances).  However, if we want to be happy and healthy, we must eventually open the door to the beliefs that are running us. 

Depression was the “near death experience” that led me to an awakening.   I was suicidal.   What does “awaken” mean?  It means to become aware.  Aware of my thoughts.  It meant leaving behind much of what I had learned to be and becoming aware of who I am; a Child of God…unlimited in nature.   My awakening experience led me to the realization that all life experiences are uncovering our Truth and leading us into freedom. 

“Life is a Revelation.  We are being revealed along the way”. 


What is running in the background of our (subconscious) is our early programming.  What we’ve learned from our experience in the womb, through birth and our early years.  We have formed beliefs even before we had words for them…for instance; many learn what love isn’t if they grew up without a good mirror reflecting what love is.   With the understanding of a child we form our belief system and then we defend it with our life…literally.   Our life experiences are a reflection of what we believe about life and love.

I’ve come to realize from working with hundreds that one particular early event is “a catalyst to awakening”.  When this event (long buried and forgotten) is brought into the light, a new understanding dawns.  It is easy to see the patterns in life; the habits, the chronic thoughts all based on a story created in a mind of a child that was never true.  With this new understanding comes compassion and forgiveness for ourselves and others as we begin to understand that everyone is reacting from learned experiences and doing the best they can with what they’ve learned.

We all want to be happy, healthy, prosperous and abundant (it’s our divine right), but for many, unconscious thinking opposes conscious intention.  If you grew to believe you are “not enough” you will create lack.   If you believe deep down you are “unlovable” you will create circumstances to prove it.   It is very easy to fall into the trap that we are just a victim of circumstance with no power to change unless we uncover the thoughts opposing our good.

The good news…we have the ability to bring into the light what is not serving our good and create a reality that does.   If we can create what we don’t want, we can just as easily create what we do.

A process for bringing into the light what is ready to be seen was revealed to me a few years ago.  It is the process I use for myself and clients when an emotional trigger is tripped.  

Every time we have an experience that goes against an underlying belief it creates friction and triggers an emotion.  It is the same emotion that was initially produced with the event that created it as a child.

The people that get on our “ever-last nerve” or “push or buttons” or the situations that inexplicably drive us crazy are all shining a light on an underlying belief (a judgement).  If you are the one being tweaked then the one doing the tweaking is doing you a favor.  You have been given an opportunity to look within and undercover the sore spot and heal it.  The belief is always based in a judgment of self.

The most common belief, “I’m unworthy” (of happiness, success, love, abundance, etc.).   We may resist doing this detective work for a bit or a long while (I can attest!), but we will not find peace until we answer the knock.  This journal is a tool for opening and healing our hurts.


This “Emotional Thought Journal” will:

  1.  Help you identify chronic negative thoughts.  For example, the “I can’t” and “I’m not” thoughts; “I can’t afford…”. “I’m not smart enough…”.   Just like chronic illness these chronic thoughts are knocking hard on your door of awareness.  This process will help you open the door.
  2. Give you a safe space to allow your inner child to speak and feel without fear of judgment.  Many have learned as children that showing emotions was not a good idea.  Were you ever told as a child, “Big boys don’t cry” or “Stop crying before I give you something to cry about”?  You may have pushed emotions down deep.
  3. Help you gain compassion for yourself and others knowing you have done the best you can with what you were given (learned) and so has everyone else.  Remember, “Hurt people – hurt people”.


Here is how the process works:  
Get a journal that is convenient to have with you at all times.  For men, this may mean one you can keep in your pocket.

On the front cover write:

Dear Thoughts and Emotions,
“I see you.”
“I feel you.”
“I honor you.”
“I love you”
You have my undivided attention.


Now that you have created the framework and are willing, you will become more aware of your thoughts.  I promise.  Pay attention to the chronic ones and the emotions they create.  These are the ones you are going on a date with. 

Try to define the emotion the thought is creating rather than generalizing.  For instance, instead of calling it anger or stress, go deeper.  How do you realy feel? Disappointed? Resentful? Jealous? Envious? Or, overwhelmed?  You get the idea.  You may not be in a position to dig into this in the moment.  That’s okay.  Just move to the next step…

Open the journal and enter a date and time when the thought and emotion came up.  What event triggered it?  Whisper a “thank you” to the person or event for the opportunity to heal.   Make a date with it.  Be sure you set the date where you can give at least 10 minutes of your undivided, uninterrupted attention to this part of you that wants to speak….alone.

You will notice much to your pleasant surprise, the thought will now leave you alone.  It has been acknowledged and honored.  If you break your date you will be reminded again.

When you meet with your date, take a few deep clearing breathes and settle into your heart space, just  like you would for prayer or meditation and say out loud:

“You have my undivided attention.  I am listening with open ears, an open mind and an open heart.  Tell me a story…”

Take another deep clearing breath and wait patiently and quietly.  Allow whatever comes up.  The child may judge his or herself however you are just a willing observer.  You’re only job is to listen and feel deeply.  You may want to cry…then cry.  You may want to kick and scream…then do it.  You may want to make sure you are very alone for this so you do not feel any hesitation.

When you feel spent and empty (like after a good cry) you are done with the session and may be done period.  This may talk longer than 10 minutes.  Just feeling the feeling may be all that is needed to heal this sore spot or there may be more…

Note:  It may take several dates before your inner child feels safe enough to speak.  Don’t push.  If you begin to feel frustrated or impatient, it is time to stop.  Trust will develop as you continue the dates.

You will know when all is forgiven and healed.  The trigger will be deactivated.  The button is no longer pushed.  You may have the random thought, but it will not hold the same charge.

Healing the Relationship with Food… Part 2

Healing the body for many may mean re-establishing the relationship with our collective mother “Mother Nature”…What I call God’s Birthing Place.  The nurturing “organic” substanence for all forms of life comes from this womb.

The archaic definition of “organic” is “instrumental”.  Mother Nature is instrumental in the formation and nurturing of our bodies. 

Merriam Webster also defines organic as “organize”.  There is an organized structure to the creation of life.  Also, the word “fundamental” comes up.   This organic structure Mother Nature provides is fundamental in forming (informing) the “organized” organic whole.

A chemical reaction occurs when combining organic matter.  It is not the fundamental cause.  It cannot happen without the building blocks (the organization) that Mother Nature has already provided.

With all this being said, it makes sense that to rejuvenate, restore and maintain this human body and all bodies in nature for that matter, we need the perfect structure and building blocks that Mother Nature provides.  The chemical process is a step removed from this or can be many steps removed.

It is true we can raise the vibration of our food with our love and gratitude prayers and bring it more in alignment with what we need.   However, the more chemical a food becomes the further removed it is from Source and its nurturing, life sustaining energy.  Organic food is naturally most compatible to our organic bodies.

So, does this mean we must always strive for Mother Nature’s perfection in what we eat?  NO. Perfection is not a requirement in life.  Ironically, the need for perfection can take us out of alignment with our health and happiness by creating stress.   Judgement = Stress.  The body makes acid when under stress making it very hard to maintain a healthy pH.

If you are very inflexible with your food; always eating “the right” thing for fear of getting sick or beating yourself up for eating the “wrong thing”, the fear and judgment will sabotage your best efforts.   Fear is the energy behind all eating disorders; whether it is eating for perfection or eating to destroy perfection (your body).

Intention is everything.  If you are a “health nut” you can know if fear is running the show by asking one simple question.  “Am I eating to honor my body and support my God-given health or avoid dis-ease?”  

If you answered yes to the latter, you may want to take a closer look at what you are really trying to avoid.  What is the underlying fear?  As we undercover these fears, we uncover our Truth.  Someone said it like this (I can’t remember who), “Fear is just an initiation into fearlessness”.

There is “nothing for nothing”.
Every experience we have in life brings us closer and closer to our True Nature….LOVE. Through my experience with many clients over the years, I’ve come to realize, for many the relationship with food is mirroring a childhood perception of what “love is” based on their experience with a mother figure.  For instance; they may have felt unnurtured.

A Surrender Experiment

You may have heard that “giving and receiving” is all the same.  More accurately; they work together – NATURALLY.   What is receiving?  The word “receive” contains the energy of surrender; to allow –surrender to.  Interesting…the word “give” is also infused with the energy of surrender; to give up.
Let me tell you a story….

The story starts with a book, “The Surrender Experiment” by Michael A. Singer.  I had already read his book “The Untethered Soul” and it was super affirming of my current understanding of who I AM.  It is one of those books I recommend often.  Then The Surrender Experiment showed up on my radar.  Honestly, as I write this I don’t know how it came to me.  I just know it resonated at such a deep level I could not put it down or better said – turn it off.  I listened to Michael himself tell the story on Audible.

Let me say right here, I am a book-a-holic.  The thought of listening to a book never really appealed to me.  I enjoy reading a book I can hold in my hand.  Then came Audible.  I love listening when I’m driving. It makes the drive so much more fun!  And, I’m able to enjoy even more books.
Anyway, I had no idea the depth of this man’s journey.  I had no clue what had been built or how far his reach was due to his decision to just surrender to life; going where life led.  Never saying NO to whatever life dropped at his doorstep.  Just allowing life to unfold without resistance.

We think we know what is best for us.  We do not.  Or, our “Ego” mind does not.  The Universe (God) wants to give us every “Good” thing.  We are good at blocking this good with our mind and then actions.

This book was the first in a series of synergistic events that would unfold over the course of two weeks and leave me changed.  I love it when something or someone has that effect on my life.   I love having my mind blown.  I couldn’t always say that…

The second event came in a dream.  All I remember is a pelican with its gullet full…bulging.  I know that we have animal messengers.  I have lots of experiences around this magical way of receiving divine messages.  Another story time…

I didn’t tune-in to that message right away.  It would be several days before I remembered again and discerned the message (God’s timing is impeccable).  “Animal-Speak” pocket guide by Ted Andrews is a super helpful tool I use to steer me in the right direction.  However, just like Archangel Michael Card Readings (the only card readings I do), I realized a long time ago that the entire message on the page may not be relevant.  My inner guidance discerns the specific meaning for me or for my client.   The sentence on the page that was most relevant – “Give what you can to others”.   Hummm….   “I wonder what that means?”  “More volunteer work – maybe?”

A few days later, I’m in a session with a client in Florida and she says I remind her of a healing facilitator named Charlie Goldsmith.  In the wee hours of May 6th I thought to look him up.  (I realized just now as I write, 5/6 = 11.  That sweet number that lets us know we are on the right track).  Part of the message of the pelican became immediately clear when I read Charlie does not charge for his services, (I didn’t realize then the pelican’s “full gullet” also had meaning).  Shocked, I asked “Spirit, are you telling me to give my services away?”  I heard, “Give yourself away”.

As you can imagine, the idea was a little scary – A LOT scary.  Just to be on the safe side, I asked, “Spirit…show me one more thing I cannot argue with and I am ALL IN!”

I awake the next day and as I’m getting ready for church I remember I volunteered to read “The Daily Word”.   I said to myself, “I had better get my rear in gear if I’m going to be on time”.  I needed to be there an hour before the service to practice.  Not that it takes an hour; there are several volunteer speakers that practice during this time.

During my drive time to church (about 35 minutes) I am quiet; no music, no distractions.  It is a time I cherish as I often receive divine messages along the way.   I am in receiving mode.  Several times I tear up and I don’t know why.  It is a joyful energy that is bringing the water.   By the time I pull up to the light at Mockingbird and Central I KNOW I’m going to receive the divine answer I asked for at church and it is going to move me to tears – it already had.

I received the answer as soon as I opened to the Daily Word for May 6th, 2018.  Here it is in its entirety:

Helping Others

I AM GRATEFUL TODAY FOR EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO BE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS.

Again and again in his earthly ministry, Jesus called us to have faith—the faith of a child, faith as small as a mustard seed. We may assume that it’s only with enough faith we can do the work that is ours to do. Today I recognize that quite the opposite is true!

By reaching out, extending love, and helping others in their human experiences, my faith grows. Belief becomes easy when I can clearly see the spiritual power my actions create!

My choice, then, is not a blind faith but a perceptive faith. I recognize the good I can create in the world and I strengthen my faith through the actions I choose.

Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.—Luke 6:38

As soon as I read the affirmation, I found myself vibrating from head to toe.   But, this is not the end of the story…

I was pretty overcome.  Yes, the tears flowed.  When it was time to read the message to the congregation I had put myself back together – somewhat.  I wasn’t able to hold it together completely.  I was moved again as I read the bible scripture.  Several people noticed, included Rev. Karen.  I asked her if we could talk about what had just happened after the service.

We sat together in the church courtyard where the most amazing, majestic oak tree graces the church with her wisdom and protection.

When I told her what I was being guided to do.  She nodded lovingly and reassuringly.  I’m thinking, “Whew! She doesn’t think I’ve lost my mind!”  She too has been guided to give of herself in similar fashion. She then asked a very profound question; something I hadn’t thought of yet, “Gail, if someone offers you money – what then?”

My left ear popped with that question.  Those who know me, know this means I am receiving a divine message.  I say to Karen, “Spirit has something to say.”  I quiet my mind and this gentle voice tinged with a little humor says, “Gail, surrender to receiving”.  I understand the humor.  You see, I’ve gotten A LOT better at giving (sometimes until it hurts), but receiving has always been hard for me.  Can you relate?  I have resisted my Good and a helping hand as long as I can remember.

Reading the Daily Word message again, I realized I was being called into a “surrender experiment”.  And it wasn’t just about giving, but also receiving.  This was the meaning of the Pelican’s full gullet.  My faith is about to grow to an unshakable level.

At the moment of surrender – when I said YES, an unexpected sense of peace and euphoria (an odd combo) enveloped me; confirmation I had answered correctly.  This feeling comes rushing back whenever I think about this moment.

The next day I lie down for a nap, with a few questions rolling around in my mind as drifted off; “How does this work?  What does it look like?  How do I proceed?” The answer woke me up.  My eyes flew open when I heard, “It works naturally.  Receiving is built into giving.  It was designed that way”.

Mother Nature mirrors for us our natural way of giving and receiving.  The womb of creation nurtures all of life and all life forms in nature nurture Mother Earth. There is nothing to earn. The circle of life just is.

The heavens mirror for us unconditional love. We can see that the sun, the moon and the stars shine on everyone equally without condition and ask nothing in return.

On Tuesday, I knew exactly how to bring my website and online scheduler in alignment with this “surrender experiment”.   Here is how it works:

I know by “letting go of the wheel”, not only will my needs be abundantly met; doors will also be opened to others to receive the help they need.  This reminds me of something I read in the “12 conditions of a Miracle” by Todd Michael.  It went something like this, “When what you desire is in alignment with what is Good for everyone – you will not be denied”.

This Memorial Day weekend it will be 3 weeks since receiving “The Message”.   I am already blown away by the experience so far.  I realized last Sunday as I was writing my tithe check for the week prior, it was the largest one for the year!  This week I am able to give even more.  I feel so blessed and grateful!

Here is the rest of what I heard…

1.  The perceived self-worth of many is directly tied to the world’s monetary system.   For instance; it is generally accepted that without a formal education you will not be able to “earn” a living wage.  The more expensive the education the higher the income.  Without an education you are considered practically worthless.

I let this idea hold me back from sharing my gifts initially for fear I would not be taken seriously without an expensive education and I might starve.   The intuitive and energy healing work I do was “not learned” it was realized and keeps expanding.  I do not have a bunch of letters after my name lending me credibility.  We are starting to realize we can “learn” anything online and “not all knowledge is learned”.  This work I’ve been given has sustained me full-time and part-time going on 8 years now.

I’ve been told over and over, “Gail, you need to charge more for your services.  Your pricing is a reflection of your self-worth.  People will perceive your effectiveness based on how much you charge”.   If I use this tactic, the very people I came here to help may not be able to access the help.

2.  What we believe about love is directly tied to a worldly system of value.  Many women have come to believe that to “marry well” you must be a “good catch”; with good looks, a good education and money doesn’t’ hurt.  In some countries marriages are still outwardly arranged based on money; the dowry system.  Much can be overlooked when looking for a mate if the money is right.   How many marry for “anything but love”.   How many in past generations, including my own married to be “taken care of financially?”

We may be conditioned to monetize self-worth and love, however the “The Truth” is:

“We cannot earn what we already ARE – Love and Life”. 

I guess it is time to trust Life again and its “built-in” support system of “giving and

receiving”.   It is time to undo my conditioning around money and self-worth, once and for
all.  It is time to release ALL blocks to receiving abundance in its many forms – including
money.  To give of myself expansively and freely – I must do this.  To receive abundant love –
I must do this.
I can see how this surrender thing works in all of life and this realization helps to solidify my
faith. For instance; without surrendering what “I think” to the Source of ALL Knowing, I would
not be able to do the work I’m called to do.  For every question there is already an answer.
They co-exist, just like giving and receiving.  I “receive” these answers on behalf of my
clients.   If I can allow this, then I can allow anything.

I don’t know where this experiment is leading me and that’s okay.   My ego reminds me less

and less every day that the unknown and change is scary.  I wonder if it will ever completely
give up.  It really doesn’t matter.  I have a free will choice in who am I going to surrender to;
myself or God.  I choose God.

Smokey Watermelon Gazpacho                                                     Serves 8-10
8 cups of seedless watermelon chopped in small cubes)
2 tomatoes diced
3 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 yellow, orange, or red bell pepper diced
3 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
1 cucumber peeled and diced
2 jalapenos seeds removed and diced
¼ cup purple onion diced
Juice from 1 large lime
2 garlic cloves minced
1 cup diced and peeled mango or peach (fresh or frozen)
1 ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground chipotle pepper (or to taste)
1 ½ tsp sea salt
2 tablespoon fresh chopped basil
½ cup chopped cilantro

Process 3 quarters of vegetables and fruits with vinegar and lime juice in food processor or blender (process in batches is needed).

Pour into large bowl and blend in balance of fruit and veggies and chopped herbs. Cover tightly and chill well before serving.   (This is way better the next day).

A most delicious way to get your daily quota of raw fruits and vegetables.

Introduction to The Evolution of FREE Health Video Series

Hi there – Intuitive Chef Gail here with Food Revelation. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to give me your precious attention.

The day has finally arrived to introduce you to the “Evolution of FREE Health”.  This book has been writing itself over the years through my experience as a food and medical intuitive. I’ve decided to share pieces of it in a video series while I go through the publishing process.

What is The Evolution of Free Health? It is a Remembrance of our Natural God-Given Health. Yes! Our health is FREE and natural. Chronic dis-ease is not.

Without our health we are not FREE! We are a slave to dis-ease and the medical industry.

As a food and medical intuitive, over the last 7 years, I have had many “aha moments” or “revelations”. The EFH of free health focuses on the 7 biggest and I call these “The 7 Missing Links to Abundant & Sustainable Health”. In reality they were never missing, just simply forgotten.

Some are soooo logical you will wonder how we ever forgot some of the most basic truths about health and healing.

We forgot slowly over-time as we have become more and more disconnected from nature and our natural food sources and have come to rely on forces outside of ourselves to dictate what IS Good for our own bodies. Many have even forgotten what food is for.

In these videos I’m going to share these revelations in the order they were received. This is important. If I had received the 7th revelation in the beginning, I would have said “No Way”. My mind would not have been able to process it. It did not line up with what I “already knew” – what I had learned.

In later videos I will talk about how what “we know” can get in the way of knowing more.

Just a little bit of history for those who don’t know me.

I am an “unlikely”, organically grown Food & Medical Intuitive. It came as a big surprise to me. This is the short story – More of this journey is told on my website at foodrevelation.com and in the Quinoa Cookbook Journey. It is a tasty introduction into the “Evolution of FREE Health” series. At 53 years old I finally started working my life- long passion for food. I created Food Revelation not have a clue what was about to happen or how relevant the name would be or what was about to happen. Working my passion led me to an awakening.

I can only describe it as the biggest “Aha” ever! I “hyper” awareness immerged. I was aware I was much more than a body and my 5 senses. It was a super intense experience that is hard to describe. This intensity lasted for about 4 days. The effects were life changing.

The most life changing? I woke up to my intuitive gifts. I’m not surprised my gifts revolve around food. It’s been my passion since I can remember. I was creating recipes at 11 years old. My passion held the key to my life’s purpose. Our created passion will lead us to our purpose. Our creative passion connects us to the “MASTER CREATOR”.

I first realized I could “know” for myself exactly what foods my body wanted and didn’t at any given time. By applying this knowledge I healed my own body. Then I realized if I could do this for myself I could help others. And very soon, I realized I could help others remember how to do this for themselves.

Food IS Talking “Intuitive Food Compatibility Testing” and the workshops were born. I called it Food IS Talking because I realized I was actually hearing the conversation between the food and the body and it was speaking volumes about what is going on in the body. Think of the body has a messenger. It is constantly talking. I am listening and you too.

Like all animals we have the ability to intuit our food needs. Our intuition is our built-in Divine Guidance.

Over time my gifts and services have expanded, however Food IS Talking is still the main focus. Through this process, I have helped hundreds (much to my surprise, even some celebrities) remember their God-Given Health.

Bottom line – The body knows how to heal itself.
If you have ever broken a bone, cut a finger or skinned a knee you know this truth.

The Evolution of Free Health experience will remind you of what you already “you intuitively know” about health and healing.

Does this mean we do not need “medicine”? NO! Thank God for trauma centers and the help we have for acute situations. “Maintaining our health is our responsibility”. And the EFH is all about taking back control.

The Comfort of Fall

The Comfort of Fall

Fall has arrived!  I was going to say fall is my favorite time of year.  And, then a small voice said, “No it isn’t”.   I realize I’ve come to appreciate every season equally.

The wind feels different in the fall, don’t you think?  It has a heavier, soothing, caressing texture, like a favorite blanket.

The fall’s light falls on my body differently – not as intense.  I can easily and with comfort turn my face into it, soaking up the rays that nourish my body and spirit.

Autumn is comfortable.  The colors comfort.  The air is comfortable.  It invites a comfortable pace – a slowing down.   All of nature sighs….Ahhhhhh.

In these times of stress and chaos unfolding around us, fall reminds us to take a deep, luscious breath.  It reminds us to take time to get out of our mind and perceive with the senses all the beauty, abundance and peace surrounding us.  It reminds us to take time to soothe our wounds.

Bring into your being the peace this season is bringing. Take a breath with nature.  Soak it in.  Let it fortify and strengthen you.  Let it heal you.

Be good to yourself.  The best thing you can do for the world right now is take good care of yourself.  You cannot give away what you do not have; and what you have you are giving to the world either consciously or unconsiously.

Fall brings comfort in many ways.  Can you say “Comfort Food”?  I’m making one of my favorite fall recipes today and I thought of you.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I’m going to.

Comfort Stew

2 tablespoon  Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon butter (or more olive oil for vegan version)
2 leeks, clean and chopped with a little of the green part
2 shallots, minced
1 cup button or baby bella mushrooms, roughly chopped
1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary (or ½ tsp dried)
1 teaspoon fresh chopped tarragon (or ½ tsp dried)
3 tablespoon oat or rice flour
¼ cup dry white wine, optional (chardonnay is good)
1 ½ cup vegetable stock, give or talk (I love organic Better Than Bouillon concentrate in a jar)
¾ cup organic milk (So Delicious coconut milk beverage, unsweetened for vegan version)
2 tablespoon of nutritional yeast (optional for a richer broth and adds more protein)
2 dashes fresh grated nutmeg (or ground)
1 teaspoon sea salt and cracked pepper or to taste
1 bunch collard greens, chopped (boil or sauté until just tender and still bright green)
1 can black eyed peas, drained and rinsed
2 cups cubed butternut squash, prepared (sweet potatoes works well too)

Preheat large skillet over medium high (I love to use my huge iron skillet for this).  Add butter and oil and swirl to coat skillet.  Add mushrooms, shallots and leeks to hot skillet with a dash of sea salt.  Sauté for about 3 minutes then add herbs.  Stir frequently until leeks are translucent and mushrooms have released their moisture (5-7 minutes total).

Add flour to mixture stirring for a minute until well blended.  Deglaze pan with wine and simmer for a minute.  Add broth and bring to high simmer.  Gradually add milk stirring constantly until sauce is thickening.  Stir in nutritional yeast and nutmeg.  Add salt and pepper to taste.   Fold in collards. peas and sweet potatoes.

Serve with a rustic, crusty cornbread (recipe below), polenta or quinoa.

Classic Iron Skillet Cornbread
Gluten-free, Diabetic Friendly with Vegan Option

1 cup stoneground organic cornmeal
½ cup polenta (coarse ground grits)
½ cup oat flour (replace ¼ cup oat with ¼ cup tapioca flour for lighter texture)
¼ teaspoon xanthan gum, optional (Replaces gluten so the cornbread holds together better)
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoon pure maple syrup (or powdered Stevia for non-sugar version)
1 egg gently beaten (or egg replacer for vegan version)*
½ cup organic applesauce (unsweetened)
1 ½ cups more or less of buttermilk (or unsweetened, plant-based milk for vegan version)
Note:  If using plain milk add 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar to milk
1 tablespoon grass-fed butter (Earth Balance for vegan version)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.   Place iron skillet** in oven while preheating and mixing together ingredients.

In large bowl mix together dry ingredients.  In another bowl, whisk together all wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry, mixing until just blended.  Do not over mix or you will have flat bread.  Batter should be very thick but pourable.

Add butter to hot skillet and tilt to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Pour batter evenly into skillet.  Place skillet on center rack in oven and bake for about 35 minutes or until golden on top and a toothpick comes out clean.  Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before cutting.  (Remove bread from iron skillet before cutting!).

*Vegan Version Egg Replacer; 2 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 4 tablespoon water.  Let stand for a few minutes until thickened.

**Note:  You can use a muffin tin, glass or metal pan for this recipe.  However; a good iron skillet is an excellent source of iron for a plant-based diet.  When it is well seasoned it is virtually “non-stick” and a joy to cook with.

Getting to the Message Behind the Thought….

“The greatest challenge to health are the subconscious thoughts that oppose it.”

The other day someone on Facebook reached out for help.  Her question was basically, “How can I change negative beliefs into positive ones; retrain the brain to accept positivity and to not reject the very gifts that one is asking for?”

That’s my sign!  This question prompted it was time to go more in depth with the Evolution of Free Health’s “2nd Missing Link to Abundant Health”

Our body is a reflection of what we eat and “think”.

In my work over the years, it has been made very clear, when it comes to abundant health, what we think is way more important than what we eat.   It doesn’t matter how healthy the food is if our thoughts are toxic.

This explains why some people seem to do everything wrong (according to the experts) and never get sick and some do everything right and end up with chronic disease.  Some people will say to this, “See!  It doesn’t matter what you eat”.   And, they would be right in a sense.

The most important factor in health is happiness.  When the energy of what we eat and think is in alignment with the energy of happiness and health – health is the natural result.  Chronic dis-ease is not natural.

Why is what we think so important?  All bodies in nature thrive in perfect balance (the topic of The 3rd Missing Link to Abundant Health).  BTW, you can keep up with this evolving book on my Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/evolutionoffreehealth/ .

Stress creates excess acid in the body.  This creates a toxic condition.  The body cannot release toxins, hydrant effectively or absorb nutrients when in an acidic state.  The body becomes malnourished. The belly becomes fat from all the stored toxins it cannot safely release.

Science is now proving stress plays huge role in creating disease and our ability to heal.  Don’t just take my word for it.  I am so elated to finally see more and more mainstream conversation about what I know intuitively.

Okay, you get the picture.  So how do you change your negative thoughts into positive ones?  Let me tell you a story…

Early in 2011, I was pushed to a breaking point.  I lost my job 3 months after buying a house.  I was depressed.  My blood pressure was out of control.  I was tired of the fungus I had been battling for 5 years.  I was tired of being alone.  I was tired of being broke.  I was tired of being unhappy.  I was tired ya’ll!  Instead of giving up,  I began to seriously search for the root of my unhappiness.  I intuitively knew somehow it was locked inside me and so was the key.

My rock bottom (and I hear this all the time), ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me. It was the beginning of a magical journey and I am so grateful!

In late 2011, I started to become aware I was receiving divine guidance. I experienced an “awakening” (a higher awareness).  I started receiving regular but random “pops” in my left ear.  It took me little bit to figure out what this was.  It was Spirit telling me to pay attention to my thoughts.  I was often not aware of what I was thinking.  Can you relate?

Let me just mention here, I’ve come to realize these miraculous bodies we have been given not only let us experience life they are also our “conduit” to Source. Spirit talks to me in many ways.  I am especially fond of the pop in my ear.  Pay attention to your body!  Dis-ease is one way we receive messages (Louise Hayes who just passed brought this revelation to us many years ago with her book “You can Heal Your Life”.

Not too long ago I received another understanding of the message “pay attention to my thoughts” Guidance had sent.  It was just a subtle shift, but a huge aha!  I was being told to “give my thoughts attention”.   I assumed guidance was just making me aware of my negative thinking so I could consciously discard it and replace it with what I wanted.  NO!  The thought wanted my full attention.  It had something to say.  It was bringing something to my awareness I was not aware of.

I’m getting this message as I write this.  The best I could do at the time was just become of aware of my thinking.  I was not ready yet to receive the messages my thoughts were sending.  One step at a time…

Habits are created and broken in as little as 3 weeks.  If replacing my negative thoughts with positive ones was all there was to creating a happy, abundant life I would be blissed out already!

My chronic negative thinking was not just a bad habit.  It was bringing into focus what was running in the background of my subconscious mind.

It takes chronic knocking sometimes to get our attention.  Many of us learned a long time ago not to pay attention to our thoughts or emotions.  We were told to “pay attention” to the teacher.  “Stop day dreaming”.  “Thinking will get you in trouble”. “WHAT were you thinking?”  We learned that thinking is BAD!

Many have also learned that “feeling” is bad.  How many grew up with, “I’ll give you something to cry about”.  Or, “Big boys don’t cry.”  In a nutshell we’ve learned not to give our thoughts or emotions the time of day.

By the way, 2 of the greatest books and easiest reads I’ve run across on undoing our old programming are written by Don Miguel Ruiz – The Four Agreements and The Voice of Knowledge.

Just changing your thoughts will not create the change in your life you want if you still have thoughts and beliefs running in the background opposing your best intentions.   These thoughts want a voice.  They want your attention.  Until you oblige, they will continue to knock on your door and control your journey like a backseat driver.  If they don’t get your mental attention, they will knock on your physical body and create chronic dis-ease.  Nothing gets our attention faster than physical pain.

The following are the steps I now take whenever I’m personally triggered or tweaked and my thoughts around the triggering event are constant and unrelenting.  THAT’S MY SIGN something is happening “FOR ME”.   It’s time to pay attention and receive the message.

These steps have led me to the realization that everything and I mean everything is serving a Good purpose no matter what it looks like on the surface.  Each event contains a message and a gift.  Often times it is bringing multiple gifts.  The biggest gift – “The peace that surpasses all human understanding”.

Here is how it works for me.  I invite you to give it a shot.  What do you have to lose?

#1 – As soon as I recognize I am “feeling” anxious, upset, mad, frustrated or my body feels constricted in any way I STOP, BREATHE and check my “thinking”

#2 – Once I locate the thought that caused the feeling…

  1. I acknowledge the thought. “I see you”, “I hear you”.  This creates space for the thought.  My “attention” respects and honors the thought.  I allow the feeling that comes with the thought.
  2. Then I ask of the thought the magical question.  “I wonder what you are for?”  “Tell me a story”.
  3. I empty my mind and wait a few breaths for the response.  Sometimes I get it right away. Sometimes it arrives later and when I least expect it.  Sometimes I wake up with it or it arrives during meditation. I know I will get it.  These days it’s happening sooner than later.

 
Often the answer leads me back to an experience in my life I misinterpreted with my level of understanding at the time. From my new perspective, I’m able to see the error in my judgment. And, often I will be shown the “back story” of the one I am judging with my thoughts according to my old understanding. This allows me compassionate understanding of that one’s actions.

#3 – Once I’ve given the thought and the associated feeling my undivided attention, I let it go.  If the message doesn’t arrive spontaneously, I wait patiently.  I am then and only then free to replace that thought.  It’s important to replace the negative thought with a high vibrational one.  Our positive thinking has the power to raise the vibration of our body, our health and the planet.

#4 – Creating a high vibrational thought can sometimes be tricky.  Avoid using words that in anyway are related to what you don’t want. For instance:  I want to be thin, implies you are unhappy with your weight. It puts the focus on what you don’t want.  Avoid using sentences that include “n’t” words like can’t and don’t.  They also put the focus on what you don’t want.

Instead try this – “I am so grateful for this miraculous body that knows how to regulate every system”.   Notice this is an affirmation (affirming what already is).  And, I always start every affirmation with “I am so grateful”.  Gratitude is one of the most powerful actions for change available to us.

Sometimes, none of the above works for me.  I just want to jump in the boat with my churning thoughts and go on a turbulent ride.  It doesn’t take me long to tire of it though.  Even while going down the river I’m aware I will have to get out of the boat if I want to receive the message and uncover the highest solution.

Experience with this process has grown my faith.  I know I will receive the answer as I have asked and it will be a beautiful thing.

I highly recommended getting into the mindset that life is always happening FOR YOU – Not to you. This alone puts you in the driver’s seat.  If life is happening to you, you are just a hapless victim of circumstance with no control over outcomes.  In this state of mind you are helpless to change anything.

When you know life is happening for you, you are looking for the “What fors”.  Your eyes are wide open to messages, synergy and guidance. You let life lead you and teach you.  Life is our best teacher.

So how do you know when you have received the message or solution?

  1. When chronic thinking around an event stops.  How many times have you not been able to stop thinking about something?  It keeps you up at night.  It interrupts your peace?  Spirit is sending you the strong message – “You do not have the message yet” or “This situation is not resolved”. From my experience, the solution often requires forgiveness; forgiveness for my judgment.
  2. You are filled with an expansive sense of peace.  You can breathe freely and deeply even when you “think” of the person, place, or thing that led to your unrest.
